According to a Famitsu report released earlier this morning (translation), Capcom and Nvidia are jointly announcing that the platinum-selling Xbox 360 title Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is coming to the PC. Visuals have been improved and the title will utilize DirectX 10 (with resolutions up to 2560x1600). The report cites a June 2007 release in North America and Europe with no date listed for a Japanese release. We're left wondering if Lost Planet PC is going to be Vista-exclusive, and if there are similar PC plans for Capcom's other Xbox 360 "exclusive."
[Thanks, Rob]

This is just one less reason to invest in a 360 if you already have a capable PC.

Plus, even though it's going to PC, Lost Planet is still only available on Microsoft Gaming platforms (Xbox 360 & Windows PC). This is not a loss to the Xbox 360, it's a gain to the Games for Windows platform.

Better than what I have right now. A dead HP. This si the second one. I swear, the only thing less reliable than HP propriatory motherboards are Xbox 360s... bz zhing!
Seriously though, wish I knew what part it was that's going bad. All signs point to Motherboard (still had issues when it was stripped all the way down to just the processor, hard drive, motherboard, and a stick of RAM, but I lack the spare parts to do more testing) and if that's true, I'll just upgarde the MB/CPU to a dual core with two PCI-E 16x ports and eagerly await a price drop on DX10 cards....

Shoot me an email with your problems, since I've worked in IT for years I might be able to help you isolate the problem.

People need to realize that the PC is a whole separate platform, and by no means should be directly compared to any console, as I believe consoles and gaming PC's compliment each other very nicely.

I appreciate the offer. Already had the guy who troubleshoots the trainers here at Frasca take a look at it and he was the one that confirmed the issues being isolated to the same places I did. The system itself is an HP a1330n with a 512 GeForce 6800GTX, 2GB Ram, M-Audio 2496 (to play with my MicroKorg) added to the core specs. It's just a simple matter of having the parts lying around to swap out to isolate it 100%. And I'm quite eager to get rid of the HP components of this system. Frankly, this is fucking ridiculous. Before the a1330n, I had an a1130n from them and it was dying every two months before they finally, due to a thinly veiled threat, agreed to send me a replacement system they had done 4 repairs on in so few months. This one has started acting the sameway and from what I've read, HP motherboards are purely solid ass. I think it's ridiculous to have a computer with less than a year lifespan, especially since before the HP, I had a custom built I did myself that lasted 6 years, even as a renderfarm.
So everyone reading, stay the hell away from Pavilions.

"I think console people will be fine without Crysis. That game will be forgotten within a month."
Right. Just like Far Cry? Oh wait, Far Cry remains one of the best FPS games across all the platform even to this day. Bad analogy I guess. Or maybe it's your statement that is wrong. Wait for the actual game to show up, and THEN say stuff like that please.

I am glad its coming to PC, I am thinking of getting/building a PC for gaming. That or a 42" LCD. Hmmm… Anyone know if I can put together a high end gaming rig with DirectX 10 for under $2,ooo, then i can do both.

And don't mind Jack of No Trades, he's probably just bitter that his PC can't even play Half-Life 2.

FarCry is a good game, but hardly "one of the best", IMO. It's highly overrated thanks to its pretty graphics. That's why I'm a bit skeptical of Crysis. It sure looks pretty, but if it's just another FarCry I'm going to likely pass. I'll upgrade for UT3, not Crysis.
Also, why all this debate about PCs and 360s? Don't most of you realize people buy PC games and console games for largely different reasons??

My Sega CDX boots Willy Beamish like a dream and while the loading time can be annoying, it still boots AND works.
My computer (when it was working) cannot boot up my copy of Willy Beamish at all, unless I scour the internets for hacks and patches that may or may not be viruses. Fallout 2 fills the screen with a single color that has to be "scrubed" away with the mouse pointer at random intervals, and 7th Guest won't even install. And no, I'm not running Vista.

That's what made Nintendos little "Quality over Quantity" speech even funnier. Sure, you had less games but that doesn't mean shit like Superman 64 or Clayfighter 63 1/3 didn't suck.
And that's what Games For Windows is. Just a logo to try and convince consumers of PCs as a viable gaming platform.

Far Cry was the first game developer Crytek
made and to be the first game this people made a very but very good job i know they made some mistakes
but they will fix all those issues from Far Cry in Crysis, expect something amazing on the gameplay...

It's not a double standard. Think of it as if a game was ported from the PS3 to the PSP. That might not be the perfect analogy, but either way Lost Planet is still exclusive to the "Microsoft Universe".
Also, the PC and the Xbox 360 are not "one in the smae", but they are pretty close. And if you don't think so, ask yourself this question:
How many games are PC & PS3 only?........
There is a reason many games are PC & Xbox 360 only.
Huxley, Alan Wake, BioShock, Command & Conquer 3 and ShadowRun are a few. Lets not forget about Microsoft's golden boys: Halo & Halo 2. And I'm sure Gears & Halo 3 will be on their way as well.

When i actually tried to get an adequate graphics card in my PC (has the adequate CPU), something went wrong, and now while the PC's graphics look better, it takes significantly longer to load them, especially 3D graphics, so i had to give up any PC gaming dreams until i get my college computer
What i need is a GPU that operates independently of the CPU and doesn't need to execute commands in the same pipeline
like a console, lol...
And i believe that Microsoft is releasing all their best 360 stuff and PC stuff on the alternate platform is because their plan long-term is still convergence. Live for Windows is the first step, next Xbox will be more like the original, off-the-shelf PC parts, but retain the more streamlined 360 architecture, and WILL be a PC that comes ready for gaming out of the box

Either way, Microsoft has to be in the equation or you cannot play the game.
That's how Microsoft wins.
