It's official: Lost Planet finds PC gamers
Capcom signaled its self-described return to more frequent PC releases by officially announcing a PC version of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for June. The Windows XP and Vista game will support DirectX 10 for gamers with those shiny video cards, but DirectX 9 players are also invited into the snowy world.
The PC version will run at resolutions up to 2,560x1600, making the console war's "True HD" sound like a tired marketing slogan. (Oh wait, it already did.) While the graphic effects beyond resolution will also be improved, little else is certain to change.
Capcom told us at its Gamer's Day event that the PC game may include new multiplayer maps and even increase its 16-player online cap, but both updates are still pending. However, multiplayer matches between Xbox 360 gamers and PC players will not be supported.

That's my favorite of the Lost Planet Photoshop contest entries. I still remember seeing it for the first time. I was like "I don't get it... Lost... OH! That's hilarious!"
Joystiq needs to do another Photoshop contest STAT!

I didn't get it at first too. I was like "Huh? It's earth. In a maze. Oh! Lost Planet!

I'm just waiting for the angry 360 fans and their eventual petition to try and stop Capcom from letting their 360 third party exclusives go to other platforms.
How DARE they!

wow i cant begin to imagine how much itll cost to get the game to run on 2560 x 1600 and still be as smooth as the Xbox360 version.
my Core 2 duo 6800, 4 gigs of Ram and 8800GTX($3K machine) starts to chug when i play Supreme Commander at 1900x1200 in the heat of firefights.

Spirit-of : About as long as it takes for the PC gaming world to ruin another game like they do with all the others with mods, cheats and general d*cks like yourself.

If you want it to run as smooth as the 360 version run it at 1280x1024 MAX!!!!
if PS3 version, 800x600 can cap the FPS at 30!

as much as I would like to believe that this will happen, Capcom doesn't exactly have the best track record for keeping their promise when it comes to PC releases.
Just ask anyone who has been waiting for the PC iterations of Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 3:SE. RE4 was supposed to originally be released for PC in the spring of 2006 shortly after the PS2 release. It's only just now been released in Europe/Asia and it will FINALLY be released here in the US in May. To go even further, not only was the game released nearly a year late, the PC version is missing ALL lighting and shader effects and has NO MOUSE SUPPORT. This basically removes the only reasons why one would purchase the game for a PC.
So, don't expect Lost Planet PC to be anything special, and definately don't expect it to be out in June. As someone who waited for nearly a year for RE4 PC in hopes of getting the best version of the game, I am severly dissapointed. Thankfully, I have already played Lost Planet on my 360. Although, I wouldn't buy it for PC anyways, because I don't have a $1500+ current PC that could match my 360 graphically anyways.
The moral of the story?
360 owners still ended up likely getting the best version of the game. This is not a loss. To be honest, if anything it's a slap in the face to Sony, since Capcom already said the game will not be ported to other platforms in terms of bringing it to PS3. Sorry guys.

"360 owners still ended up likely getting the best version of the game."
What the hell are you going on about?
Quoting from Shacknews:
"Shacknews was able to get hands on time with Lost Planet last night. By default, the game uses a standard WASD-style control scheme with mouselook, which translates over well from the dual analog stick configuration of the Xbox 360 controller. The game also includes built-in support for the Xbox 360 controller, and features fully mappable keyboard and mouse controls."

So, based on that plus better visuals, and possible balance fixes, the PC version is going to be the best. I am glad I didn't buy it for my 360 back then.

Wow, that's the most ignorant statement I've ever heard. Stick to your xbox and let the big boys play on the PC, mmmkay?

Seriously, They should re-release the game with this new cover. I would pick it up in a instant! Also, they should redo the cover for Half Life Orange. Maybe Morgan Freeman getting pummeled by oranges or maybe replacing all the heads with oranges! Woot!

Ha! I love that photochop, I can't stop laughing at it. Is there a way to find out who made it?

'ey, Lost Planet demo on Steam... the game looks really nice.. better than on XBox 360.
also RE4.. the version that comes out here in the USA is going to look a lot better than those other shitty versions with no lighting effects.
