A glimpse of the Coming Soon tab in the GameTap client reveals that they will soon be bringing Sega Saturn titles Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon Zwei to the service. Although the first title also appeared on the PC, Gamasutra has learned from sources close to GameTap that both these titles will be running via a Saturn emulator.
These games join the now-unhidden Bug! as the first three Saturn titles that Sega has brought to the subscription-based service. We're still hoping for Panzer Dragoon Saga, which now seems more probable following this revelation. No release date has been given for either Panzer Dragoon or Zwei; GameSetWatch recently published an interesting retrospective on the series.

I would instantly subscribe to GameTap just for Panzer Dragoon Saga. I'd do just about anything to play that game for less than the hundreds of dollars it goes for on eBay.

Will they also add Guardian Heroes, possibly the 2nd or 3rd most eBay expensive Saturn game? I used to own it by my ex gf stole it. So now I have to live without it or cough up 80-100 bucks to relive my past.
Ever panzer dragoon game has been amazing, btw.

I prefered Panzer Dragoon to Panzer Dragoon II: Zwei back when I originally played them, but yeah, both these games were great. This should attract some customers for Gametap.

When is Gametap going to release the N64 versions of Starcraft, C&C Red Alert, and the PSX version of Diablo?

The "Zwei" I really want to have available again is Herzog Zwei, a.k.a. the original realtime strategy game. Too bad it's stuck in IP hell.

Buy multiple months at once ;) They have several plans, 6 months is less than 50 dollars, still less than most games.
@#6: Nintendo or Playstation versions of anything are extremely unlikely, since Nintendo and Sony offer competing services of sorts. They do have some of the NES Contra and Castlevania games, but they're PC ports. *shrug*
@#7: They generally release 5 or so games each week, so I'd imagine they'll get to those games eventually. The system was just officially added this week, so I doubt they'd announce every upcoming game immediately. The ones they listed are just the first set.
/No, I don't work for them. I'm just a subscriber. It's funny to see people get excited over Xbox Live or Virtual Console releases of things like Prince of Persia, Galaga, and Beyond Oasis, when I already have access to all the games and more. Sure, I'm just "renting" them, but it's a lot better for me than spending 5 bucks on a non-refundable game that sucks a lot more than I remembered.

Buy it from ebay, play it, sell it back on ebay.

Wasn't one of these an unlockable in Panzer Dragoon Orta?
(Which from what I understand is STILL not back-compatible with the 360 because Microsoft hates me and wants me to die)

I never got the appeal to these games. What's the appeal of flying on a track? There's very little actual freedom in this series.
Sometimes, people get involved because of looks alone. I really didn't find anything in the gameplay that made Panzer Dragoon stand out from the game it clearly ripped off- Magic Carpet.
Most of the early Saturn games kinda sucked, actually. I had two Saturns... Hell, I had one BEFORE launch day (worked in a place where that was possible) and I still never got a lot of joy out of the system. It looked cool, but never had the titles I'd care to play. It was a lot like the Jaguar in that regard.
Of course, by the time I'd gotten the Saturn I'd been playing a 3DO for a year or two, and it had some great games. I guess I was just spoiled for the Saturn by then.
Too bad. It could have been an awesome console if it ever had anything worth playing. Panzer Dragoon sucked. NiGHTs sucked. I guess there's no pleasing me when it comes from Sega... Unless they'd have WISED UP and made a new Streets of Rage or Toejam and Earl game.
