Awesome. I think I would just stay with 3.10 OE, until everyone else had first hand experience with it.

Man, I had to downgrade back to 3.03-OE-A. Why? Because, for some odd reason, 3.10 OE won't run my Splinter Cell and Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 UMDs. WTF?

@ B_Gamble07:

Yes, you can, it's very simple. From any OE firmware you can easily downgrade to the official 1.50 firmware, and from there upgrade as normal. Pay attention to which motherboard your PSP has, though. Some PSPs also require a patch for safely returning to official firmware.

To bored or anyone else who can anwser my q:

so could i just download this 3 30 oe-a and upgrade to my psp and go from there ?

@7

no, upgrading and downgrading is not that simple. before you can have a OE psp you must first downgrade to 1.5. then you can upgrade to an OE psp. If you ever want to go back to an official firmware you must once again downgrade to 1.5, and then upgrade.

don't worry though, is not that complicated and once you have an OE you will not want to go back, trust me.

If you have any questions or need some help, let me get your e-mail.

Does this include the link for using tmobiles "free" wifi?

h0mi: Yes, it includes the free T-Mobile Hotspot functionality.

I just finished upgrading to 3.30 OE-A and like the new (official) changes - most notably, thumbnails for files in the VIDEO folder and the increased disc-loading speed of PS1 titles.

Other very minor official changes: The "Remote Play" option under Network now has a "Connected to: -" pane listed under it. Also, RSS channel feeds now have small music icons on the far right of audio track listings and small video icons on the far right of video files instead of having the artwork display indicate the file type.

Oh, and one thing I'd like to know: Does this OE custom firmware completely fix the problem with the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters UMD (including making it work under infrastructure, regardless of using Devhook instead)? I don't think I ever saw a true solution to this issue and hope to see it fixed so that everything works once I end up buying R&C:SM.

After becoming a late adopter to the glamorous world of custom firmware, every free moment since installing has been spent trying in vain to get games from my PSone collection to get jiggy on my psp.

After much searching I am now the proud possessor of software to rip the discs to .bin files and subsequently turn them into eboots to run off my memory stick. For unsure reasons I also have a copy of Hot Shots Golf 2.

Every time I try to kick the games into life the P.O.P.S screen comes up before it eventually tells me the game cannot be started. What exactly should be in the folder along with your freshly created eboot file? I'm going out of my mind here! If I have to read through one more googled forum page I'll scream.

Help...anyone?

Skipjimroo, you need to add the keys file from your Hot Shots Golf 2 copy to the folder the EBOOT.PSP is in. It works flawlessly for many titles, it's really not *that* complicated.

I read that popstation is not working at the moment in 3.30 oe, is this true? I don't want to upgrade if I can't play ffvii for psone.

Don't worry, you can still play all of your PSone games, and FFVII is fixed and has the battle swirl now. The thing that isn't working is popsloader, and I have no idea what that is.

What the heck? Are u stupid? Why FFS should u downgrade custom firmware??
And for all the big n00bs out there (and as I can read, there ar a lot) just find yourself a good site/forum where u can learn about hacking your psp, and stop asking extremely stupid questions here...

first of all, only beginners that are trying to be cool use the
word
'noob'. second, the only reason to downgrade a custom firmware is if
you have a game that was released before your current firmware and is
not compatible. either way if you know what you are doing you can go
back and forth. i see no apparent reason to upgrade 3.10oeb to
3.30oea. i can live just fine without all the changes, the only
thing worth it would be the disc speed. i will wait for further
patches to 3.30oea. oh yeah, custom firmware is an emulation/patch, and not the base firmware. first you downgrade to 1.5 official, then you patch it with the oe. it will say you are running 3.xx whatever but you're motherboard is still based with 1.5

not true, you don't need any key file anymore that has been removed since 3.03-OE C.

"The thing that isn't working is popsloader, and I have no idea what that is."

popsloader is only for loading older versions of the pop emu.

as far as the black screen on snes emu goes, the "brightness" setting gets inverted when you load this emu, just hit brightness button and it should show. I just upgraded (3.03 oe-c to 3.30 oe-a) and it works fine, but cycling through brightest to dimmest, last setting shows up black, no image at all.
