Phoenix Wright is an incredible game and rightfully deserves all the fandom it's earned on Nintendo DS. The witty writing of the franchise makes each case a virtual page-turner. For better or worse, Capcom is ditching the Phoenix Wright staff for their newly unveiled Harvey Birdman law simulation game. As we initially assumed, the game will play exactly like its DS ancestor, with players having to prove clients innocent through the use of contradictions in witness testimonies. According to Gamespot, a major difference between the Wright series and Birdman will come from the writing: "The TV show's writers are going to assist Capcom in bringing the series' particular brand of humor to the game, and familiar plot devices will be included, like Birdman discussing the case with the opposing prosecutor over drinks."
While greater involvement of the show's creators can only be good, we really hope that Phoenix Wright's talented writing team manage to find their way into this game's script as well.
