LOST video game confirmed for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC
In their most recent official podcast, ABC's LOST producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse confirmed that the upcoming game adaptation will be arriving on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Typically, adaptations cater to as many consoles as possible so as to guarantee they hit the same market as those who watch the TV show. Is this an indication that the PlayStation 2's time is coming to an end, or is developer Ubisoft Montreal focusing more time and effort on delivering a title whose graphics are on par with our expectations for the newest generation of console?
Said Cuse approximately 25 minutes into the podcast, "[Developer Ubisoft Montreal] came down here the other day and did a demo on some of the stuff," while Lindelof remarked, "very impressive," in response to what they were shown. We don't want to imply that television producers know what makes great games, but as fans of the show, we are comforted that progress is being made on the title. No release date has been mentioned.
A mobile game based on LOST is currently available, which you can demo here.

Maybe flackbacks will be more entertaining if you can play them.
Ian Von Porter @ Apr 17th 2007 3:57PM
Usually, a PS2 or PSP version is developed then ported to the Wii...hence, no Wii version.
mastafool @ Apr 17th 2007 3:58PM
Sounds great. We get to play a game that answers questions by either ignoring them or by asking other questions.
cameraman @ Apr 17th 2007 4:00PM
c'mon guys, it may be a great show but why make a game? Why must you shame thy selves with another TV/movie game.. Oh wait.

Tony Bowman @ Apr 17th 2007 4:07PM
yay! another game that will end like Halo 2! wahoo!
... yeeeeahh. that sounds like fun
hvnlysoldr @ Apr 17th 2007 4:11PM
Either it will stick with the license and only answer or raise or assume knowledge of questions in the show, or it will stray far enough away that it won't be considered canon so any of their answers will be negated.
Quigs @ Apr 17th 2007 4:13PM
its CUSE, dumbass. not cruse.
NoHitHair @ Apr 17th 2007 4:14PM
A little late. The viewership of Lost has substantially decreased this season.
HOVA uk @ Apr 17th 2007 6:00PM
your kidding me right?
you mean last year when they ANNOUNCED the LOST video game will be released, that wasn't enough confirmation??
they have games for any tv shows, even shit ones.. i mean Dark Angel.. **cough**
Lost is a great show though, don't know how the game will work though
vidGuy @ Apr 17th 2007 4:27PM
I'm surprised no Wii version has been announced, given Ubisoft's strong support of the system and the obvious benefit the Wii would provide with point-and-click control. I'd love a LOST game similar to MYST!
LOST is easily my favorite show on tv now, and I feel sorry for viewers that have left. This season has given us quite a few answers and more are coming (I browse spoilers every once in a while).
billychaos @ Apr 17th 2007 4:30PM
No Wii support tells me it's probably a shooter or an FPS, hehehhee. J/K but it's probably true unfortunatly.
haywood jablomey @ Apr 17th 2007 4:31PM
Hardcore LOST fan here. I see its game going the way of all the Star Trek video games. (i.e. CRAP)
Tom @ Apr 17th 2007 4:34PM
Hopefully the PC version will require you to type the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 every 108 minutes. That's what I look for in a game!

I guess Ubisoft decided that it already has enough turds in the (sewer)pipeline for Wii. Maybe they decided it was time to stick up other platforms with their substandard games.
Seminator @ Apr 17th 2007 4:37PM
Hopefully it is a cool puzzle/action game. Ubisoft Montreal has put out some solid stuff...gives me a little hope
Dracula Jones @ Apr 17th 2007 4:37PM
Nikki and Paulo are the only playable characters.
vidGuy @ Apr 17th 2007 4:46PM
The way they talk the game will be similar to the ARGs in that they will follow the same basic storylines but not interfere with the show's story. I don't think you'll play any main characters on the show, though you will probably interact with them.
BTW, yeah we first heard about this almost a year ago:

cool I was just watching it for the first time (dont flame) and its really good hope the game is
Joe Smith @ Apr 17th 2007 4:59PM
Hopefully the game will have a plot, unlike the now VERY tired and stretched thin show.
vidGuy @ Apr 17th 2007 5:05PM
Joe, when was the last time you watched the show? Everyone's entitled to his opinion, but I think Lost is easily the most well written show on television. Fantastic plot with so many twists and turns that you can't believe it was planned from the beginning of the pilot episode.
Alexander, you are in for a treat man. The only problem with watching past seasons on DVD is you get spoiled being able to watch several episodes in a row!
Matt @ Apr 17th 2007 5:10PM
I want to play as Rose and Bernard...
Otis Whitaker @ Apr 17th 2007 5:15PM

I disagree with this. The show seems haphazardly written, and the plot seems to be made up as they go along, and a lot of times, they don't even seem to know which direction they want to go, and they abandon some plot devices, or simply just try and act deep by not telling you the answers to things for a very long time (if ever).
A show like Lost shouldn't be as long as it has been.
...and also, the overuse of flashbacks is an annoying plot device.
lukee @ Apr 17th 2007 5:16PM
For real Joe, what gives? How is lost tired or streched thin? have you been watching lately?
Eliot @ Apr 17th 2007 5:30PM
Hopefully it's better than the table top version http://www.pvponline.com/article/3257/wed-apr-11

vidGuy @ Apr 17th 2007 5:39PM
hahaha, Eliot, that's an awesome comic. I bought the boardgame for my family and we made it about half way through before it went into the closet, never to see the light of day again. The game's worse than Monopoly.
Vidikron @ Apr 17th 2007 5:40PM
I think Lost has been great this season. They haven't done a major back tracking like they did last season. They still use the flashbacks, but I find those to be very well done and very good for character development. I also can't think of any plot devices they have dropped. They certainly always have a lot of questions that need to be answered, but nothing that I can think of has been abandoned.
And this season has been very good about explaining things. I think they knew after the complaints about the back tracking slow story line last season that they had to move things faster this season... and so far they have.
GaryM @ Apr 17th 2007 7:03PM
Hopefully the design of the game won't be like the show: making it up as they go and hoping it all works out by the end.
UbiSoft also has the rights to CryEngine, so it'll probably look nice, if nothing else.
Jeff @ Apr 17th 2007 8:14PM

I think you need to look up the terms "macguffin" and "red herring". LOST makes intentional (and frequent) use of both. But if you trace the plot backwards, most everything falls logically into place.
As for the answers, I mean, have you watched at all lately? LOST doesn't always beat you over the head with answers; it's usually a lot more subtle than that, and it's up to you to connect the dots. The answers to *most* of the questions in the show have already been given. In fact, I'm a little disappointed in this season because too much has been given away; I can't quite see how they're going to stretch it out for one more season. Sometimes I'm not even sure how they're going to make it to the end of this one without giving away the farm.
JJ Abrams said at the beginning of the series that a) they have the basic plot completely mapped out already, and b) everything has a worldly explanation. So far, that's been the case - the answers to everything provided so far have been purely physical. He also said they've left room to go in different directions if they feel certain things happening with the characters, and they've done that too. But the basic plot was set a long time ago. I remember his answer when the NY Times asked him what happens at the end, and he said "they get off the island. If it is an island." Uh oh!
I do agree that seasons 2 and 3 have been uneven and have had some filler episodes. But the last few eps. (since they finally killed Ken and Barbie) have been first season quality. Really top notch stuff. Even the "bad" LOST episodes are still better than 95% of everything else on TV, though. It's just on a whole other level of quality vs. everything else out there.
I don't have any idea how they're going to make a game out of it, though.
Pete C @ Apr 17th 2007 8:39PM
I feel sorry for anyone that stopped watching LOST early this season back in 06. This year it has been a KNOCKOUT. The last string of episodes have restored this show to greatness, even equaling the amazing HEROES. When this show is on its game it is arguably the most enthralling show to watch. Like the last poster said, even the filler episodes have been high quality. I loved the episode when they buried those two...a turn of events that would have made Rod Sterling tip his hat. The episodes have been explaining a lot lately as well, and the last episode was so mind-blowing it tied shit together back from seasons 1 and 2. JJ Abrams made it clear with this episode that he does have an end game in mind, and that the show is not just spinning its wheels. The show also has the best use of musical score on television. There is no show since X-Files that uses music to such dramatic effect. The show deserves the loss in viewership it got from so much fluff early this season and parts of last, however this show is back with a vengeance. If you are not watching, you are seriously missing out on GREAT television.
vidGuy @ Apr 17th 2007 8:46PM
Great post, Jeff. As far as having material for Season 4 and (possibly) Season 5 - which is where the writers/producers of the show want to stop - we don't know what new plotlines are going to be brought in before the end of this season. Word is there is a HUGE gamechanger coming up, something that's going to set up the whole story arc for next season, just like Season 1 and Season 2 led us into the following storylines.
Season 1: the island
Season 2: the hatch
Season 3: the others
Season 4: ?
Mike @ Apr 17th 2007 8:50PM
"c'mon guys, it may be a great show but why make a game?"
Heck, they made more than games. There was that DHARMA website, the Bad Twin novel. I'd accept a Lost game only if it stuck to the same unique tie-ins like the aforementioned things. But if it's a straight crapjob like the lameassed CSI games...forget about it.
Camperton @ Apr 17th 2007 10:44PM
they should make it a sandbox game with downloadable content that is added as the show progresses.
it would be cool to explore the island freely.
waves @ Apr 17th 2007 11:10PM
This game would be perfect for the Wii!
colin @ Apr 18th 2007 2:04AM
im great everyone loves to hear me speak...
mccomber @ Apr 18th 2007 2:21AM
I love the show, but like so many others here, don't see any way for this game to be good.
killer7 @ Apr 18th 2007 12:05PM
Oh... I think:
CRYSIS GRAPHIC ENGINE + LOST = GREAT GAME...
However.. I hope for the best...
P.S for VidGuy
Season 1: the island
Season 2: the hatch
Season 3: the others
Season 4: THE END XD
Occono @ Apr 18th 2007 9:34AM
That was a funny comic! Not that I know anything about tabletop games.
Anyway, if this version sells well I think they'll do an exclusive Wii version afterward.
jimmy @ Apr 20th 2007 8:40AM
for those of you who dont watch lost, or have stopped watching it for some strange reason, YOU SUCK, anyone who complains about lost because it had an average episode needs to get there head checked, lost is the best damn thing that has ever been shown on tv, and by a long way. i understand that when you try to make a game from a tv show or movie it ussualy sucks, but after all, this is lost.
also chronicles of riddick escape from butcher bay was a quality game, one of my favourites, i would recommend this game to any gamer. if lost could pull something like this of it could possibly be the best damn game that ever excisted, it would acctualy bend over halo3 and GOW and poo on there heads.
when lost ends i will probally cry :'(
allriggghht !!!
D @ May 15th 2007 8:07AM
so whats known about the game, is it a puzzel game and what else do you do. i would be fun if it was a first person shooter - i'm asking becauswe i can see the video because my computer only shows text and i can see pictures or video, only text.
tell me what you do in this game and how do you get pas that guy in the hatch who shoots at you with his AK-47.
help me, i cant get past him and how do tyou get to the other side as that sould beam thing keeps killing me.
Crash815 @ Jun 27th 2007 11:57PM
Why the heck wouldn't they have it for the Wii? That's gonna hurt their profits. If they don't decide to make it for the Wii, I'll probably buy the PC version.
James ford @ Jul 1st 2007 4:09PM
Lost is the best tv show and has a very complex script, unlike most of the crap on tele. All of you guys who think that the script is weak or think it is crap are a bunch of idiots, who dont like to think and figgure things out but just like watching mindless crap.I'm not sure whether the game will work or not tho.
