Mega64 parodies GRAW 2, border security
A bit of forewarning: The video does feature some explicit language. However, it has been replaced by high-pitched beeps, so it should be work-safe. Unless, of course, your boss is a bat and doesn't appreciate his employees toying with his echolocation, then you might want to wait until you get home. Also, find a new job.

My boss doesn't like it when I laugh out loud like that Justin... Thanks alot for that last paragraph!

"Yes, it's technically an ad for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2"
Sorry, but the whole thing for me about Mega 64 is their unlicensed parodies. I understand the Miyamoto one because that was specially designed for GDC(and quite funny), but this sketch kind of makes me wonder if they sold out.

That last line is easily the best so far this year.

I guess in the future government officials look and speak like car salesmen.

Of course they solg you, you nimwit! Its the goal of everyone in media to MAKE MONEY! Selling out IS the goal. Please tell me you wouldnt do the same. PLEASE tell me that you'd deny giant burlap sacks full of cash-money to retain your 'artistic vision'.
"Selling out" is the stupidest term ever.
Keits @ Apr 17th 2007 11:54AM
Wow. I can't type. "Of course they sold out, you nimwit"
Now I'm a nimwit too.

My definition of selling out, is when you change the act that made you famous because you were paid. For instance, if Eric Clapton appeared in a television commercial, you're right, he's just making money. But if he does a duo with 50 cent so he can appear in the latest MTV video, yes that is selling out.
In the case of Mega 64, they have become famous by their skits mocking video games. If they had advertisements on their site, who can blame them for wanting to have money? But this is doing a skit for a promotion of a game, as oppossed to their usual immitating a game. It's not as if they haven't been successful. They've sold their DVD's pretty well. They are certainly not wealthy, but for a bunch of guys re-enacting video games they haven't done too poorly. They do not need to sink to this.

So...how long have you and I been working for the same company?
Ghost @ Apr 17th 2007 4:18PM
Not their best, but still really good.

I guess some of you guys didn't know that mega64 has made ads for the first Graw, a few Splinter Cell games, Red Steel, Prince of Persia, Might and Magic: Dark Messiah, and probably other Ubisoft games I'm forgetting. They've been doing this for years, and I still think they are hilarious.

I dunno, that sounds like a pretty interesting job.

Rocco isn't funny. He has never been funny. The production values for MEGA 64 are terrible & they haven't matured since the show's inception. It's a poor excuse for what could be cutting edge parody.

I do not think it is selling out. If a game company is asking to do an ad for them. I mean as a gamer i think anyone would be honored to do a game ad if they had the chance. And besides, the money they get from this goesn into their dvd's and merchandise production. I mean the last 3 episodes on their volume 2 dvd were a big improvement, due to them having better cameras and lighting, and were do you think that money came from.
