from what was released the beta only last for that time, a "limited" beta in a sense, then bungie says no more halo 3 beta for you!

Sucks becasue 3-5 years ago a beta was just that a beta which i could play over and over agian try to crash and fix bugs, one would think they run the beta up to the lanuch of the game, so they can get feedback and tune the game for the thousands of people playing it, from a xbox live load level to just QA testing. its not like everyone who plays the beta will not buy the game your talking about the biggest FPS IP since half-life. Probly bigger then Unreal.

Bungie where's the community love, at least pass the buck to microsoft, blame them. tell us something.

Those who were lucky enough to have played the in the alpha will show them as playing Pimps at Sea (Alpha) even though they're playing the Halo 3 Beta.

Totally disagree with you guys. There's a couple reasons why: The beta is for BUNGIE, not the gamer. It's a chance for them to get feedback, and enhance the experience for the RETAIL release. The retail release is the only time the company owes the gamer anything. Anything they give to the public before, during and after the release (aside from the PURCHASED game) is not required... it's just "showing love to the community".

As for "everyone deserving a chance" to play, that argument is insane. Again, they don't owe anyone a chance. They offered THREE different ways to get in on the beta. If you couldn't get in from any of those three ways, it's your own fault. Although the first two options were somewhat "luck-driven", the third was open to anyone who bought Crackdown. I'm not saying that it makes sense to pay $60 for a game that you're not interested in just for a three-week long beta, but it is a viable option if you're sincerely crazy about playing the beta.

Be glad they gave us the information they did. They didn't have to make huge announcements about the beta, and how to get in it. They didn't have to let us know that it will only be three weeks. They told us these things so we would all have the chance to participate, and not be shocked and angry when the three weeks went up and it magically disappeared.

This seems standard around here, but some people really need to quit the whining.

Someone needs to break their Do not Disclose order and post us some screenies or some video of themselves playing. Sure they could get sued like crazy, but wouldn't it be worth it? No? Meh, fine.
