Battle of the FPS Titans: Samus vs. Master Chief

For nearly six years now the message board battle has raged. Samus Aran vs. Master Chief: who would win a battle of the armor-suited titans? Arguing fanboys everywhere should realize, though, that the competition presents a false choice. As the above video proves, when Samus Aran fights the Master Chief, we're all winners.

The fight sequence takes a little while to get going, but once it does the heavily Matrix-inspired action doesn't disappoint. The video is all the more impressive considering it's largely the work of one man, an amateur 3D animator named Monty Oum. We won't spoil the super-surprise ending, but don't be surprised to see a little unexpected tenderness on the battlefield.

Wow. So, the ending was cheesy, but still, I thought that was spectacular. I wish parts of it had actually been slower, to see the various little details of the fight better. Great stuff.

I would have thought it was better if that were actually John, since I was expecting Master Chief v Samus, but that was entirely awesome, especially with the Elites, Grunts, and Hunters in the fight, before and after Samus arives.

That's about how I would expect a Master Chief v. Samus Aran fight would go down. It wouldn't matter who could win in a fight since they would be more likely to team up like that against a common enemy. And you KNOW that if they fought, their enemies would show up to take them down. That's how it always happens.

Video needed more Ridley, Master Chief, less Master Chick.

Seriously, though... That was a pretty cool video. Well animated, and well designed... for the most part. Samus's Varia Suit looked like plastic instead of metal. But, that's my only complaint.

Wow based on Halo and Metroid cannon, Samus has no effing chance against a Spartan when she is out of her armor, regardless of MJOLNIR armor or not. Not to mention they made up a lot of abilities without the armor. Still, freaking cool coreography though.

Sadly enough, I expected a dance off when I noticed the final credited song, "Crazy" by Se7en wasn't used yet and that the Spartan in question wasn't John-117. For the record, Se7en is basically the Korean Justin Timberlake but less annoying, kinda. Basically, it was "where the hell does a pop song like that go in this kinda serious action video?"

So, yeah, I saw the dance-off coming. Still, I liked it -- it was pretty cool and really cheesy. Same as the whole video -- cheesy, but good.

Oh, and Se7en fans, please don't kill me for comparing him to Timberlake. It was merely a convenient reference point for people not familiar with Se7en.

Amazing! The ending was horrible though. MASTER CHIEF ISN'T A GIRL! The video was jaw dropping, and I don't care what you say, MC is a guy. MC being a girl just ruined the whole video.

So I noticed that a lot of that wasn't 'matrix-inspired', but more of 'taken directly from the matrix'. He even used Juno Reactor and Don Davis in the music. Anyway. Ignoring the ridiculous ending, and the slightly informal subject matter, I'm just gonna guess this is going on his resume and will snag him a job.

The entire video was great. I didn't mind the 'twist' of Chief being Chick, the choreography was well done throughout. I especially enjoyed seeing the sniper bullet being rebounded against the flying shields, wasting an entire legion of Covenant :)
