There's something to be said for collectors and their obsessive nature. Case in point, this eBay seller. He's parting with his incredibly massive collection of consoles, including everything from the Fairchild video game system to a Nintendo Wii in it's original box.
Why is he selling it all? In his own words, "Hello, My name is Jesse and this is my video game collection. I am selling it. Not because I am getting married. Not because I need a lung transplant. Not because my kids are starving. There is no sob story here. The only reason I am finally selling my collection is because I want a nice down payment on this."
Points for honesty! Check out the massive list of consoles available after the jump, and his listing for the incredible amount of games for sale. We just wonder why he's not offering up the Super Mario monopoly or the Super Mario Bros. 2 lunchbox. Them's some quality items.

The people that don't like it probably have taken it for a test drive, and realized that you don't really get what you pay for. Sure, the 350Z has a powerful engine, but that's pretty much all you get. It feels more like a more powerful Altima than a sports car. And the interior just feels cheap.
I'd rather get an S2000, an RX8 or a Z4 in a similar price range. Heck, you'd get a drive that feels much more sportier despite the lower acceleration with the much cheaper Miata. I'd still rather save 10-15K more and buy an Elise though. Now that's a car that feels like a sports car.
Ah, and another lesson for you young ones: If you need to sell your game collection to afford a car, you really can't afford it.

UPDATE: For you fellows at Joystiq Land (joystiq.com): The Mario Monopoly Game and LunchBox are included in the auction. zOMG!

That looks a lot like my collection except for my 4 Sears Fun Machine II's. Nothing compares to a fake Atari that plays 2600, 7200 and the Japanese imports as well.

thats not the point. just becuase it may not be what you pay for doesn't mean it's a "bad" car. sure im still in college but hey, id be glad to have a car after 2000 but i guess we can't all afford cars in the price range of the 350Z like you.

Everything looks pretty good with one glaring exception: he wraps all the controller cables around his controllers. If anyone here has ever worked with audio/video equipment (i.e. set up concerts, events, or recordings) you would know that this is a HUGE no-no. This warps the hell out of the cable and destroys it. Tsk, tsk.

I do that. It does make the cables a bit 'wavy', but I have yet to destroy one... and I've been gaming for a long time.
@20
Haha... If that's really you, good luck. I personally wouldn't want to give up my favorite hobby for a car. But if it's what you want, go for it. You only live once.

I'm also a car enthusiast. I have just never been able to afford a car I really want. so, I hope that maybe I can do that if I pull off selling the collection I've spent years and years and years on.

Which is why I'm glad I have my new 350Z, AND my entire gaming collection :)
"Jeez. If you're gonna sell all your games to buy a car, at least make it a good car."
