Mega-huge video game & console collection for sale on eBay
There's something to be said for collectors and their obsessive nature. Case in point, this eBay seller. He's parting with his incredibly massive collection of consoles, including everything from the Fairchild video game system to a Nintendo Wii in it's original box.
Why is he selling it all? In his own words, "Hello, My name is Jesse and this is my video game collection. I am selling it. Not because I am getting married. Not because I need a lung transplant. Not because my kids are starving. There is no sob story here. The only reason I am finally selling my collection is because I want a nice down payment on this."
Points for honesty! Check out the massive list of consoles available after the jump, and his listing for the incredible amount of games for sale. We just wonder why he's not offering up the Super Mario monopoly or the Super Mario Bros. 2 lunchbox. Them's some quality items.

I'd never sell my collection. I'm going to be burried with it in a huge box. =D
Rubang B @ Apr 18th 2007 7:42PM
I have that lunchbox!
Joey @ Apr 18th 2007 7:48PM
Nice car....but think if the gas prices!!!!
Disir @ Apr 18th 2007 7:50PM
Jeez. If you're gonna sell all your games to buy a car, at least make it a good car.
rom @ Apr 18th 2007 7:54PM
What ever happened to that massive SNES collection that was on auction? Does anybody here know how much it went for?
Rocky @ Apr 18th 2007 7:55PM
For anyone interested in helping this guy out, the Wii is not included btw
Cutiepyro @ Apr 18th 2007 7:57PM
Fwiw, the Wii is NOT for sale (big red letters, at the top of the auction). Just so you know.
Arturo @ Apr 18th 2007 7:59PM
@ disir,
oh yeah, well then what do you drive?
Bluebreaker @ Apr 18th 2007 8:00PM
The one thing I'm really intrested in and he's not selling it. (And that doesn't seem like that expensive car either...)
citykids @ Apr 18th 2007 8:06PM
Jesse, just get Forza 2 when it drops next month, that way you can keep all of your gear AND drive a new Z!
Stef Geiger @ Apr 18th 2007 8:09PM
Anyone who doesn't think that the 350Z is a good car is probably on crack.
arrrgh @ Apr 18th 2007 8:31PM
second.
the 350z is a fackin beautiful machine
hibikir @ Apr 18th 2007 8:32PM
@Stef
The people that don't like it probably have taken it for a test drive, and realized that you don't really get what you pay for. Sure, the 350Z has a powerful engine, but that's pretty much all you get. It feels more like a more powerful Altima than a sports car. And the interior just feels cheap.
I'd rather get an S2000, an RX8 or a Z4 in a similar price range. Heck, you'd get a drive that feels much more sportier despite the lower acceleration with the much cheaper Miata. I'd still rather save 10-15K more and buy an Elise though. Now that's a car that feels like a sports car.
Ah, and another lesson for you young ones: If you need to sell your game collection to afford a car, you really can't afford it.
mepaco @ Apr 18th 2007 8:49PM
He has updated the listing:
UPDATE: For you fellows at Joystiq Land (joystiq.com): The Mario Monopoly Game and LunchBox are included in the auction. zOMG!
Obi-Habby @ Apr 18th 2007 8:56PM
Well as the Need For Speed mid-west champion I can personally say that the 350z can't even compare to a Nissan Skyline, and yes your collection can never equate to a new car no matter how many girls you pray it will attract. Women attracted to your 350z will not continue to be interested in you unless you have a high paying job, and since he is selling the consoles for the car I doubt it.
That looks a lot like my collection except for my 4 Sears Fun Machine II's. Nothing compares to a fake Atari that plays 2600, 7200 and the Japanese imports as well.
Kevout @ Apr 18th 2007 8:56PM
Pfft I have more systems than this guy
Arturo @ Apr 18th 2007 9:00PM
@ hibikir:
thats not the point. just becuase it may not be what you pay for doesn't mean it's a "bad" car. sure im still in college but hey, id be glad to have a car after 2000 but i guess we can't all afford cars in the price range of the 350Z like you.
horngreen @ Apr 18th 2007 9:06PM
Not worth the starting bid of $2000 in my opinion. Most of those systems could be found for less although all the games might get you up to that price...Maybe. Actually if you have the money to buy this collection you should just buy the car out from under him!
shivr @ Apr 18th 2007 9:21PM
to paraphrase the selling consoles for marriage comment thread:
"man, you know he's gonna regret it in 2 years when the engine stops and he's sittin alone at night with nothing to play."
:)
Jesse Edgar @ Apr 18th 2007 9:26PM
Hey assholes...
Can't you just wish me luck? haha
Kinjor @ Apr 18th 2007 9:30PM
guys i hate to say this, but the games he has included suck. At least they are of a completly different taste then my personal taste.
but thats my opinion. This is definitly not worth 2k. Hope he gets it.
Brandon @ Apr 18th 2007 9:32PM
The Nintendo monopoly is not all that cool I've got a copy from amazon.com and it is cool but the properties could use a lot of work. It is really just a cool factor to be link's shield. :)
Roger @ Apr 18th 2007 10:09PM
now THATS a reason to sell! good luck man!
Cassidy @ Apr 18th 2007 10:10PM
Pah - I can drive one of those in Forza without having to sell my collection. :)
joel @ Apr 18th 2007 11:02PM
Everything looks pretty good with one glaring exception: he wraps all the controller cables around his controllers. If anyone here has ever worked with audio/video equipment (i.e. set up concerts, events, or recordings) you would know that this is a HUGE no-no. This warps the hell out of the cable and destroys it. Tsk, tsk.
Vidikron @ Apr 19th 2007 2:13AM
@25
I do that. It does make the cables a bit 'wavy', but I have yet to destroy one... and I've been gaming for a long time.
@20
Haha... If that's really you, good luck. I personally wouldn't want to give up my favorite hobby for a car. But if it's what you want, go for it. You only live once.
Kazi @ Apr 19th 2007 6:45AM
I would have bid if there was a Sega Saturn and every Treasure game in there. But it doesn't, so this collection is made of fail.
Jesse Edgar @ Apr 19th 2007 7:38AM
It's really me and I am ready to do away with all of this. I have to move soon and it's such a pain moving all of this stuff around with me. Plus all I play anymore is Starfox 64, gradius 3, and Nintendo DS.
I'm also a car enthusiast. I have just never been able to afford a car I really want. so, I hope that maybe I can do that if I pull off selling the collection I've spent years and years and years on.
G @ Apr 19th 2007 4:51PM
dude who's 350z is that..that looks sooo hot i want one! is that how all nismo 350z's look? i may buy one right now! thanks!
Alexander @ Apr 19th 2007 5:18PM
thats the 2008 nismo edition damn thats hot
Pikachelsea @ Apr 19th 2007 8:43PM
The 350Z, in my humble opinion, is the most beautiful car on the road. Argue if you want over how "sporty" it feels -- but it can run with some very high end vehicles, and it does it while looking absolutely gorgeous. Its style factor is unprecedented.
Which is why I'm glad I have my new 350Z, AND my entire gaming collection :)
"Jeez. If you're gonna sell all your games to buy a car, at least make it a good car."
How much you want to bet this guy drives his mom's '88 Toyota Cressida? Place your bets now.
ricardo @ Apr 20th 2007 2:26AM
Lol guys, leave him alone. It seems that this car is his dream - so why not? Hes giving up a hobby to start another one - where is the problem?
