New Rainbox Six: Vegas content now Live
This has been a terrible week for significant others. Not only were their loved ones drawn away from designated "snuggle time" by two delicious new maps for Halo 2, but now they'll have to contend with new DLC for Rainbow 6: Vegas. Yes, the Player's Pack Red Edition ... the one announced two months ago. There was also a freebie auto-update released for the game, which you can read about here.
In case you didn't hear before, the 800-point pack includes two new game modes: Assasination (Team 1: Let's kill that guy! Team 2: You'd better not!) and Total Conquest, which is King of the Hills (not you, Jordan Eubanks) with three spots teams need to control. There are also three fresh maps and two remixes, but you wouldn't know that from reading the dashboard description, which just says there are "brand new maps." A small request to companies releasing DLC for purchase: Please let us know what we are buying. Anyway, you know now, so go, buy with confidence. Or, you know, don't. He/she misses you.

sweet.
although...
$10 for a couple new maps and game modes is a bit much.

depends how much you like the game or not. I think it's worth it, because Ive been looking foward to these new modes for a while. :)

I disagree. I've probably spent at least 50 hours on this game already and if I could get another 10 or so of co-op play with my friends out of some new maps, I'd be more than happy to pay for it. When compared to how much they charged for the extras in the original GRAW, 800 spacebucks is a pretty good deal.

I love the game. 10 bucks still seems steep, but new levels for co-op terrorist hunts is tough to pass up. I don't care that much for deathmatches on this game anymore, but the co-op is still amazing to me.

Man, this just makes the red ring of death that visited me last night all the more bitter. Warranty or not, I'm still out my big white buddy for a while. Poo.

Please put this on the PS3 version that we have been *patiently* waiting for.

Will this ever come to the PS3, why aren't they dealing with that instead of giving this to the 360 owners. There are quite a few PS3 owners out there who really wan't this game. It has been delayed for about 5 months so far, and has not been mentioned at all.
Digi Smalls @ Apr 18th 2007 1:31PM
the reason these Clancy games are delayed for PS3 is because the developer has to make its own PS3 network code. once a developer has a solid PS3 networking code base up and running (like EA) they can use it in their other games and you can expect less delays between games. Splinter Cell is out for PS3 running working network code, so Ubi shouldn't be too much longer with Rainbow and Graw.
Xbox Live from the beginning included a suite of developer network APIs that all developers can use.
(Sony is trying to get there, and some developers would rather wait for that than make their own from scratch.)

Damn them for charging money for this!
I refuse to buy, since I don't want to encouurage this trend of charging $10 for a couple of maps

you're getting 2 new game modes and 5 maps for 10 bucks. that's a pretty sweet deal to me. if you want to complain go buy the guitar hero 2 tracks. see who's getting ripped off.

I'm not sure, but I only got 4 maps. Doscala, Roof, Marshalling Yard and Kill House Redux. I don't see the fifth one.
