Vince Young talks Madden curse on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Young for his part, brushed off concerns that the cover shot will lead to disaster. "I done prayed about it and we're gonna go home and try to get to the playoffs and try to get to the Super Bowl. We'll see what happens," he said. We're not big gamblers here at Joystiq, but if we were we'd put some money against Young's confidence in his health this season.

Thank God his career is shortly. I wanted to kill the announcer that was sucking his hog during the comeback against the Giants.

"I done prayed about it."
Heh....

LMAO "I done prayed about it..."
I think I peed a little.

I have $50 on a week 4 severe concussion.
Guess who hates scramling QB's more?
WR's.

injury and failure happens to a lot of players during a season... it's just more noteworthy if you happen to be on the cover of a magazine, cereal box or video game.

The shark attack joke has nothing to do with the past. It's called comedy - saying he broke his foot isn't absurd or out-of-nowhere. Saying he was attacked by a shark is extreme and odd...
Wow, do you need all absurd comedy dissected for you? Must be a treat to watch something like Arrested Development with a person who can't grasp the absurd.
Seems like even money Young's gonna get decked by a linebacker or safety one of these days.

Bless you Kyle Orland for the fabulous reference to the summer of 2001! Lest we forget the summer-long feeding frenzy that led entire mainstream media to jump the shark.

Good one Arlen.

"Thank God his career is shortly. I wanted to kill the announcer that was sucking his hog during the comeback against the Giants."
On that day, though, like many others, his hog derserved sucking. I think it's appropriate on a gaming site to point out his main accomplice who won't be there this year: Pacman Jones.

Pointing out that one comment he made sure makes you look so smart. We all bow to your greatness... except the guy who peed a little.
Matt B I suppose that would be a problem if the Titans had any WR's that could catch or actually play worth a damn.
Considering Vince went 8-4 with at the least 2 very close calls including a nearly beating the Super Bowl Champs both times they played them (if not for a blocked field goal in the first game) I don't see it being too much of a problem. He only scrambles as a last resort most of the time.
Oi I hope he can break the curse.
Matters @ Apr 18th 2007 3:36PM
oof making a few changes to what I typed with out re-reading it was a bad idea ;)
Did anybody end up making a shark attack game back then I wonder?
James @ Apr 18th 2007 3:43PM
Is it just me or is the real Madden curse the fact that the game keeps getting worse?
Diskoboy @ Apr 18th 2007 6:48PM
I'm from Tennessee. This worries me. Especially since Vince lost his go-to-guy, Travis Henry (damn free agency!).
We're screwed.
Rukus13 @ Apr 30th 2007 9:41AM
One year someone is going to Brake the Madden Curse. It can't go on for ever. I can see him braking it, then again he does run a lot, Broke Leg!? That's what happen to running Mike Vick.
And, so people shut up about why LT is not on the cover find out here. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/chargers/20070419-9999-1s19nflnotes.html it's the money!!!!!
