Actually, I've been playing Madden 2007 a lot lately, and I'm pretty sure I could play professional football. I also played Virtua Fighter quite a bit, so I think I qualify as a black belt. And now that I've bred Chocobos quite a bit in Final Fantasy, I feel the sudden urge to snap and start breeding horses in real life.

Indeed, thank you Jack Thompson, for making me realize that my mind is a blank slate, with media of all kinds telling me to do things. In fact, I'm pretty sure that that comic book told me to kick my brother in the crotch. Yeah, that's what I'll tell mom...

Hey guys... there are a few groups of gamers who are doing something really cool to help fight the image that all gamers are cold blooded murderers. This is a really great cause and also an awesome opportunity to come out and hang with your fellow gamers.

Check it out,

Octavio Diaz:

Whoever you are, congratulations on having just been upgraded from 'bottom of the rung' to 'complete prick'.

What an obnoxious comment. It's as though you actually want all of the readers on this site to hate you. What ever happened to politeness? You don't have to try to be macho try or to act like a bully. You could have just said 'that's my work, please either do not use it or pay a fee'.

Besides, that was definitely not worth $500. The new images is much better :)

This is truly one of the best ideas I've seen in a while. The only disappointment is that this will probably be scoffed at by the general public the same was Flowers For Jack was. We, as gamers, are given very little respect and credibility. I'm lucky to have parents who not only support me in my way of life (although they're always happy to see me go out) but who exposed me to Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt when I was 3 years old. Yes, the games were a bit old by then, but Christmas 1989 was a wonderful day for me. I've played video games since that day and I to anyone who would call me a 'model citizen', that would be an understatement. No criminal record, no history of drinking, smoking, or drug use, I've never even skipped class. Do people like Jack Thompson really believe that by "exposing" gamers like us, they'll end the gaming industry? We're all living proof: video games make the world a better place.

There have always been violent people in the world and always will, sadly we have to except that. People just say the violent media did it as a scape goat maybe lose some years off their sentence and just go to an asylum but video can't be the cause of all violence. We used to watch people kill each other for enterainment, I guess Rome must've had PS2's and Xbox's and played GTA and God of War. Theres always disturbed people video games or not, there's been murder since the beginning of time, did Hitler own any violent video games? What about the guy who made guns and the guy who starting hunting not for food but sport, people shoot stuff for fun and they're not playing video games.

Such valiant efforts deserve such praise. Joystiq does so much for gamers and nerds alike. A counter-information campaign is just what we need to do, and I'll do whatever necessary to help get people to understand.
