We do not know when, but there will come a day. And on this day, you will see millions of digital worms flying through the air, rocketing at the speed of information through the walls of your home. Do not be alarmed! You are not having coke-and-alcohol-fueled hallucination. (Note to Christian Slater: You are.) For the rest of you, this sight will herald the release of Worms: Open Warfare 2 on the DS and PSP, which THQ has announced will feature online multiplayer.
The company has dropped a handful of details about the next iteration of the venerable annelidic series, including new modes like Rope Race and the Firing Range. There's also some new weapons like the intriguingly named Buffalo of Lies and Holy Hand Grenades. (Three-decade old Monty Python gags FTW!) More good news: It's going to be 2D. Still not enough for you? Check out the video, if you have a strong stomach for flying digi-worms.

The first Worms on DS was one of the most god-awful pieces of crap EVER.
I returned it the day I bought it.
This new Worms better make up for it.

@ #5
because its worms, we never expected it to be on just the psp or just the ds, now if it was something like phantom hourglass being on the psp then that'd be a big deal about nintendo losing an exclusive, that may be a bad example because zelda is a nintendo first party game

Or a giant trojan rabbit? That'd be an awesome weapon for a Worms game...

Oh god, I want to believe, I do. I used to love the Worms games, but too many crappy "updates", including the train wreck of Worms DS, have left my faith a battered husk. But I watch this trailer and think "It looks really designed to capitalize on the two screens... Good graphics..." And then my heart leaps to the skies, even as my head knows Team 17 will just treat me like a fool one more time...

Hey Justin! Did you hear that they have a sheep as a weapon too?

Man, sheep are so 20 minutes ago. In Worms: Open Warfare 2 (winning the award for Worms title that sounds most like a Tom Clancy game) there are SUPER sheep.

I want to believe that this time will be different. Why do they keep trying to make it better, when it was already near perfect? I'd die for something as addicting as Armaggeden or WWP. Please THQ, don't break my heart again!

For those that missed it, Worms had already come out on PSP and DS last year. The DS version (despite having a leg up with the touch screen) was way shittier than the PSP version. Hoping they fix that with this go around, because my friend only has a DS. He definitely wont be pickin up a PSP to play with me either.

after downloading and playing the 360 version, I'll gladly be passing on this. Bring back Scorched Earth, If worms can go all these years without one significant improvement then I'll gladly go back and play the original title that started it all.
