A 400 point and 800 point price point would have been better. But I'm buying both.

Actually, What I wouldn't mind seeing is the entire Atari releases dropped to 200 points for one week only. I'd get behind four Atari release for 800 points.

Hopefully Double Dragon is coming soon.

Eets was pretty cool on PC, so I plan on picking that up here.

I'll demo the pinball game, but I never am very into digital representations.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for saying this, but I'd rather not have double headers.

*GASP*

Listen to my reasoning though. We had a streak going for a while, a game a week, every week. But every time we get a double header, the streak gets shorter. We get games sooner, but we also run out of games TO get sooner. Still, the consistency is nice.

This is all good for us and Microsoft, but it isn't much good for the developers who are sharing their launch dates with a rival arcade game, thus sales are likely to be lower and what they would normally be (I imagine so anyway) if they had have been released on separate weeks.

But still, if the pinball game is any good I might buy it. But 800 microsoft points ia always too expensive. I bought 1000 microsoft points to be able to buy Boom Boom Rocket two weeks ago, and I have 240 microsoft points remaining. If I want to buy the pinball game, I can only either buy 500 or 1000 microsoft points. 500+240 is only 740 points, therefore, I have to spend ANOTHER £8.50 ($17) to buy it. The only benefit of that is that I will have 440 microsoft points, but that means I can only buy a retro game or a map pack or something, but if I wanted a better game I'd have to fork out £4.25 for 500 microsoft points.

It's actually pretty expensive, considering that I can buy King Kong for £10 and games like Just Cause for about £17.

The games must really be stacking up in certification if they feel confident enough to release two double headers in a row. That's good for everyone.

@3

Your logic would dictate there's only a set number of arcade releases that will ever see the light of day, hence the reason we should limit the releases.

But I'm gambling that there were just too many releases. Look many new games pop up daily. If you were ready to release your title and Microsoft said "Well, here's the thing. We've got too many as is. Your game is going to be released. We just don't know when"...I'd take that as more damning than your release is going head to head against another title. I'm willing to bet, by the end, we'll see an equal amount of Arcade releases against retail releases.

So the eets game looks interesting, but it sells for $10 currently for the PC. I would expect an arcade version to be a lesser version (pure speculation) and it seems like they make additional puzzles available for download on the site. So 800 points for the Live version may be a little high unless they create puzzle updates as often as they are for the PC version for free on the Arcade version.
And with the drop in price of real games (Like someone said about King Kong or Just Cause), it seems a little odd that nothing similar is happening with the Live games (Gauntlet is still 400 points). As someone who kind of likes to collect things when they get cheaper, or if I see a 360 game for $10 in the store I probably won't pass it up, I would like to see something similar happen with the Arcade games. Subtracting people who just bought their 360, is there any one that plays the demo of Gauntlet and says "After 11 months of this demo, NOW i see that this game is worth 400 points." Lower the prices of games that aren't selling any more.

I agree with you but it has been confirmed elsewhere (see the Geometry Wars Should Have Been Free/Cheap article) that 400 points is the lowest M$ will allow you to sell an XBLA game for.

@10 - There's been a few cases of 360 ports from the PC that have even more added to them. The word "arcade" is kind of a misnomer in some senses, as I don't think it implies simplicity.

From what I've seen, the games look to be pretty identical in terms of general feature sets. The controls are different, obviously, but that's expected. The 360 version has 120 new levels, as opposed to the PC version having "over 100". There's other new content as well, that's not in the PC version at all.

What you say about the additional puzzles is true though... The PC version allows people to make their own. It doesn't look like people can make their own on the 360 version, sadly. I could be wrong, but I can't find much on it.

I'm a huge pinball fan, keep 2 real pinball machines in my living room, and will surely be checking this one out.

I still haven't seen an electronic pinball game to match Hyper 3D pinball, which only worked in windows 95. This one at least *appears* to have the same level of sophistication... time will tell.

@9

That makes sense, then. In that case I think that 2 or more games should be released when there are ton's of others stacking up, but consistency should be a priority. As long as game releases aren't completely random, I'm fine with anything.

When (and if) XNA games start being released on XBLA, I'd think we'd be seeing a lot more double-headers.

This is a Great game, The physics seem real, and the tables each have their own style of play. The tables play smooth and fast. the graphics look realistic. it is worth the 800 points.

The drawbacks are, No offline multiplayer, so you cant play against a few friends offline on the 360. No keeping score other than xbox live name.
