It's not just PS3 to 360. It looks like this whole exclusivity thing can go the other way, too. The ESRB, always good for spoiling a future press release, lists the heretofore Xbox 360-exclusive action-RPG Eternal Sonata as both an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title. If the ESRB's listing is accurate, it's unknown if Eternal Sonata would be released on the PlayStation 3 in Japan, where it's cited as a particularly strong Xbox 360 offering for the market. The title is scheduled for a June 2007 Japanese release under the title Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream and a 2007 North American release. We've asked Namco to comment on the ESRB listing.

For the last time...PC releases do not negate console exclusivity. They are 2 separate markets that occasionally cross paths.

Actually, this one wasn't that big of a suprise. Because the australian publisher for this game announced it as a PC, 360, and PS3 release long ago. Then the developer and Eidos both shut them up and remained strangely silent on Kane & Lynch.

"Does anyone here not have a 360, but does have a PS3, AND can admit that Sony made many mistakes when they designed the PS3? I kind of doubt that many of these people exist."
I have a PS3 but not a 360. I'm not sure what design mistakes you're referring to though. I think that Sony made mistakes, but they were PR/marketing mistakes, not design mistakes.

"Sony's never been into actually making games... just making hardware. Which is fine."
Sony is the third largest publisher in the world, behind EA and Ubisoft.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Good thing I chose a PS3.
But where's Tri-Ace? I hope they're doing something for the PS3 as well. I mean, being a piano player and all that, I'm probably going to be rather pissed with the liberties they'll take in this game. Chopin dreaming isn't that bad, so far.

"23. Uh, this is worse than a PS3 to 360 port, because I almost guarantee virtually everyone who has a PS3 also has a 360 (because everyone who has a PS3 has virtually unlimited disposable income and can just buy all of them), and so what version of a game they buy comes down to what controller they like best."
Huh? Consoles always bring out the brand-supporters and a LOT of each fanbase wouldn't touch the oposition with a barge-pole. Sure a fair few die-hard gamers will always buy all current consoles but 'virtually everyone'?
Do you have any stats to backup this claim?

Baby Sea Tuna, that's like saying you can buy generic medicines at local pharmacy's and big hospitals and trying to say that they are aimed at different markets because more people go to hospitals.
Literally, exact same games. This means that no matter what market they're being aimed at, I can still get them on my PC. So why should I spend ANOTHER $400 on a 360 instead of getting most major 360 releases as well as most major PC releases on the same box?
Now, not every PS3 owner or 360 owner also has a gaming rig. But if they do, why would you need two consoles to get the same games on? People who have a 360 and a Wii are going to get most of their games on one specific console or the other becaue they prefer how it plays on that system. I prefer games that are released on both consoles and PC to be on PC where the users will keep the game fresh with new content far past the point where the console release gets stale.

It was a mistake by the ESRB. They have since taken it down. The game is exclusive to the 360.

mushiking,
"Eternal Sonata isn't turn based."
If you have a Japanese Xbox Live Silver account, assuming you have a 360, you can download the Trusty Bell/Eternal Sonata demo from the Marketplace. I've played it, and it is turn-based.
Man, I didn't realize how old this article is.
