I just thought of something.... the flute puzzles in the first castle will be kinda awkward. Fortunately, they are the only two flute puzzles in the game (if memory serves me well)

Just bought my Wii and I'm wondering if I can track points cards. The couple of stores that I had visited didn't have them. They still scarce?

Not that I've ever seen. Buy you can buy Points direct from their shop channel.

Try Target or Best Buy. Those are the only places I've seen them at.

Sheppy, Zelda II was perfect the way it was, and the best zelda until TP.

Yeah, I went there.

I've never played Wonderboy, is it worth 800 points? I have been saving up for Shining in the Darkness...

But pokemon comes out today, and I want to split my time between 2 games.

I saw a handful of points cards at Best Buy, but they are still pretty rare (which doesn't make any sense considering they are just printed pieces of paper). If you have a credit card, it's much smarter to just buy points from the Shop Channel. It's a lot easier, and you don't have to pay tax.

vidGuy,

While I agree it's easier to just use a credit card on the Shop Channel, I've been taxed on each one of my Wii points purchases.

Do you know a trick that I don't?

yeah I've had to pay tax on my points purchases also. But it is defintely easier than worrying about purchasing a card. I guess they're good for gifts though.

Screw Act Raider. Where's Super Mario 2? That was my favorite Mario game ever.
Has the best music, too.

I'll probably pick up wonder Boy since I've heard so many great things about it.
...thus ending my promise to not buy any more VC games until I beat all those ones I've got. I've DL'd maybe 15 or so and beat only 5.

...I wish they'd release more top-down shooters, though. I always preferred those to horizontal shooters.

Games have to be rated by the ESRB before they can be put on the vc. So the game publisher has to submit them for review. Blame Square-enix for not doing so.

Certain stores charge 25 dollars for 2000 wii points. A ripoff since the MSRP is 18 to 20 bucks. Most brick and mortar stores the price for the points cards if they charge the MSRP with tax is over 20 bucks. So in reality you are either paying more or about the same if you had paid with a credit card on the vc shop.

Buy them from amazon with another purchase so you don't have to pay shipping.

As for paying tax on wii points that is the fault of your state tax laws. I don't pay tax on my wii points.

This is one of those games that you'll hate immediately. I know, and I'm the guy hyping it. But you'll play it, getting frustrated with controls or falling in the water and by the time you finish that sequence, it all clicks. Suddenly you've gone from "this is a piece of shit" to "my christ! Best game ever." Controls can sometimes become unresponsive but never to the point of being intolerable.

So you basically traverse this huge world (think Symphony Of The Night style world layout), getting new weapons, armor, items, upgrading your health, so on and so forth. You'll actually get to see one of the best winter worlds ever to grace a 16 bit console. And just when you think the cutesy fantasy can possibly get any stranger or better, along comes the alien stage. It's truly one of those games you start out hating but then it brings back the warm and fuzzies everytime you touch it afterwards.

That explains why Zelda III went back to the original format, and was heralded as the best game ever made.

Zelda II separates the n00bz from the 1337z (kinda like Gradius III). If you can't stand the heat, get the hell out of Death Mountain. My favorite is still Link's Awakening though.

Battle Lode Runner is the first game to come to the VC in the U.S. that was never actually released in the U.S.!!! Everybody buy it to show how badly we want more unreleased classics like Mother 1 and Devil World, etc.!

Yeah, nothing says "you don't deserve to game... BOIY" quite like cheap deaths, redundant gameplay, and shitty collision detection.

Remember boys and girls, it's not sloppy game design, it's a "challenge."
