Have Mario on your toilet seat

We've posted crazy eBay auctions before, mostly concerning massive collections. This is a bit more unique.

Extra Life's Scott Johnson has sketched his rendition of Mario on what we hope is a brand new toilet seat. Of course, the jokes regarding an Italian plumber (never seen on the job, mind you) immortalized on porcelain are far too many.

Johnson is putting the seat on eBay; the proceeds go to the charitable cause of himself -- specifically, he's putting it towards Photoshop CS3. Current bid is $72 and the minimum for Photoshop is $199 for the basic CS3 upgrade.

The time lapse of his creation, featured on Extra Life TV #9 , is embedded after break.

I admire the goal, I just parted with the $599 for the CS3 Design Premium upgrade. Yes, I have done my share of pillaging and installing, but after working for nearly 20 years with Adobe programs (photoshop 1.0 beta, Illustrator 88) I had to face the facts: making my living using the programs was worth paying the price of admission.

Not saying that anyone should change what they're doing... Just saying that as a professional in the field of design, I decided to pony up the loot several years ago and it's nice not having to ferret around torrent and warez sites to get updates. Plus it allowed me to do something that I wanted to do for a long time - call Adobe and complain about something.

For the record, the CS3 suite feels about the same on my G5, and now that it's 'Universal' (meaning that it's now native on Intel macs), it loads ultra-fast on my MacBook Pro and it's not the memory hog it was while it was when the Intel was emulating the PowerPC to run it. Nice.

Now for that 'Universal' version of AfterEffects...

Good luck with the auction, Scott... I'd love to help but as I've said, I've already spent all my lunch money on my own upgrade.

Points for the man not bitching about the price and actually coming up with something creative to cover the expense. Also, tres cool Mario and choice of medium.

Proper toilet edicate dictates that after use you lower the seat. A. To be nice to females. B. Be nice to everyone else so they don't have to look down into if they don't want to... Courtesy...
