You're serious are you? It's really THAT over-rated? And those five years spent playing the series, all wasted because I didn't realize that it was actually just hype that made me come back to it every day for a year so that I could get my fix of it?

I respect it as a good game but I couldn't spend more than 2 hours playing that as hard as I tried. Maybe MP3 will fix that, because it's an awesome looking game and I love 2d metroids.

but um.. yeah, of course halo is overrated to people that don't like it. but in actuality I think it is, but I don't think that much. Look how crazy much it's being played and enjoyed. get over it and play something else if you don't like it, duh.

I'm excited for halo 3, and I think I'm one of the few who thought Halo 2 was better all around than the original halo, albeit I never played the original multi player more than a couple times. H3 BETTER have online co op.

I'll be objective: I think halo is really boring, and offers nothing that I can't find done better in other FPSs.

Other people can like it all they want.

Metroid 2D = Halo > Metroid Prime

Seriously, Prime had way too much back tracking in it, and if you got confused you were doomed. I got so lost, I loved the gameplay, but that map and the back tracking just killed it. The 2D Metroid games are so much better the Prime and maybe better than Halo... hard to say.

we know that you really want this game but I love surprise with new features, but look like I won't get that feel on the first day because you sent far too much infos on halo 3.

I really think that a lot of the people that have so much hate and aversion to halo, essentially resent halo because they aren't any good at it. I feel that way towards fighters like VF, SF, MK. I stay away, but i don't flame them. So ... halo haters, hop online and give it another chance ... halo lovers, don't t3@b@g the n00bs so much ;)

My beef with Halo is the armor regeneration. I think that it ruined Halo and I think that it ruined almost every FPS since. That shit is EVEN IN RED STEEL. You have no armor. You're a regular dude, in clothes! You regenerate. It makes all the games too easy. I want FINITE HEALTH to give me a challenge. That is my beef with Halo. Flame me suckers!

I have to agree with you, on rainbow six, you get shot 8 times with a mac11 in the feet, you see black and run away, your back to a 100% in a few seconds, it loses the complete reality issue in the "realistic" games, i would prefer to run half blind and attempt to survive and fight all messed up, with a limp, and limted to using 1 hand, so your shots are off, barely any firing compensation, and fighting to live. Instead i get shot once and run away..

Rubang, not to flame, but I respectfully disagree with you. While something like Red Steel's regeneration wouldn't make sense to me, Halo's armor does. From the beginning of Halo CE, it's been an integral part of the story.

Sure some parts are easy with the armor, but then again, I remember certain parts of Halo CE that were downright frustrating. Everyone spent a long time messing with those first two hunters (before we find out that 2 pistol shots to the gut will do) ... The flood level was very tough, the first time through. Even the underground level was prettty tough first time around (bridges, switches, turrets, doors, jackals, the elite with the swords were tough too.) Keep everything in perspective. When we were toughing it through Halo CE, it was a new experience, it was challenging, it wasn't easy. Now that all those challenges have been revisited over and over again, its easy. Let's hope Halo 3 can reinvent the wheel.

I had a lot more typed but didn't show up. Jist of it being that lots of things don't really make sense in video games, in fact, almost nothing makes sense in video games. I feel that Halo 2 was very disappointing as far as story and gameplay go (not factoring MP). I hope Halo 3 dishes it out old school style.

Penny Arcade was talking about single-player Halo, which is definitely repetitive at its core (though there were some good moments).

colin, yeah I know the armor makes sense and all, but I still can't stand it! If I wanted to regenerate, I ... would!

I just prefer a finite health bar with scattered health, possibly hidden in, oh I don't know, crates or something.

Rubang, I see your point, I like the style of Max Payne and FEAR as well. And truth be told, I like the health bar from Halo CE better, with Shield and health units. In Halo 2 multiplayer, you regenerate too quickly. If some guy just killed my teammate in Halo 2 MP, and I run up on him as he finishes regenerating, he can kill me just as quick as I can kill him. Which to me seems a little unfair. But in the original Halo, you have shield and health units. If my dead teammate managed to knock his health down, I have an advantage.

I'm kind of rambling... work sucks today.
