Holy hell, this sounds awful. Maybe they should call it Leon: The Professional 2.

Adding a love interest. Why? I mean, does every Hollywood movie have to follow the same damn pattern? I refuse to watch this in the theatre now.

And people wonder why video game movies tend to be horrible... Someone else thinks something needs to be added so there is more "story." Why not the movie from another perspective that he gets involved with....

why are you guys ribbing on this. So they changed a detail in the movie it doesnt meant it will be bad.
Name one movie that was bad because they changed one detail.

ONE DETAIL!

YOU CRAZY!

Any fan of Agent 47 knows that he would never allow a pretty face to interfer with his work.

They already failed by not signing on Jason Statham.

Yup, that's the entire movie ruined, and fanbase alienated in less than a minute.

And some stupid 50+ year old exec, who's never played the games let alone read any of their scripts, buys a new Merc.

How is NOT signing Statham ever a bad move? I loved him in the Guy Ritchie films as much as the next guy, but he's had a streak of awful shite ever since. Another hitman for hire role is the last thing his career needs.

Sounds like a basterdized version of The Professional.

Well at least of Leon (the version shown outside of the US)... great movie.

Yes the girl in that is like 12 (Natalie Portman) the extended version seems to drift towards a relationship that would not be approved of by... well anyone. But she is the only thing he ever cared about so you could call her a love interest.

Anyway, rent Leon it will be superior in every way to this movie (Yes apparently I can see the future).

Agent 47 kills people... that alone will sell, why do they not realise that? As if by including a love interest women will go see this film... NO THEY WON'T

I'm all for it, makes him more real (depending on how it turns out) and they're most likely doing it to lure in female viewers. btw, is that Aishwarya in the pic?

Bad Twentieth Century Fox...Bad.

@7 I think the uproar is about just that...they didn't just change "one detail" It's not like they chose to give him side burns or a burly mustache...they altered his whole persona. I must admit, I'm not a die hard Agent 47 fan...but one of the last things I would expect from a mission in Hitman is to save a woman...not b/c you're getting paid to do that but b/c you have....feelings for her...

That's it...it's done, game over man....game over.

When will Hollywood realise that films based on video games will be hated by the target audeance (gamers) if you fuck with the plot. The whole point about 47, is that he's an unfeeling monster. In the games the only time he even remotely showed any emotion was with his pet canary. Sure you could have 47 show some humanity by the end, but a love interest? Fuck you Fox!

Could be a love interest Metal Gear style (i.e. Snake and Meryl rapport), most of you are assuming that Fox will make the character soft with fuzzy feelings
