Kinda makes me wish I had a 108" plasma to enjoy every pixel of those 1080p 60fps graphics. Although I'm sure after my eyes have stopped bleeding, the novelty will have worn off.

I'm very curious about this game, I know it's super-hard, but it is intrigueing. I'm going to rent it, I would never buy a game where I might not even pass the first level...

Still, I suppose I could look at it from an old-school perspective... a lot of the original arcade games were so hard at first, you could barely last more than a few minutes.

But once you understood the patterns, you had a quarter (or a hundred) well-spent.

I'm not a hardcore gamer, and yet I totally want to play this game because I have the sense that the controls are perfect, and that any mistakes made are mine alone...

Perhaps this is a great way to get better at games that USED to seem hard.

I think I'll play this just to get better at any game that has challenged me, up to this point.

This, and Devil May Cry.

After all, guitar players get callouses, and play better...

Why shouldn't gamers?

I was just figuring, if I were a giant-axe wielding nearly naked chick with breasts larger than the human body can handle, I'd definitly be able to shoot lasers from my body too.

Godda luv team ninja. always coming through in the clutch.

Looks great! Still waiting for Team Ninja to show the 360 some love (remember the console they said they really want to support). Instead all we got was that broken DoA4 which was basically DoA3 with new backgrounds and then some scary DoAX which was just horrible in every aspect except for the giant melons. The Ninja Gaiden that is supposed to be the true sequel isn't even on the radar.. Not a release date in sight.. Vaporware I guess..

I've never played Ninja Gaiden but I've heard that it's bloody hard. Watching that trailer makes me never want to play the game, from the sweeping shot over the stormy seas to the big breasted scantily clad female character to the fire breathing dragon. The game doesn't scream "original". I believe that a developer should put more effort in their trailers than that. Some would disagree, but when I watch that trailer, a complete new-comer to this series, and feel bored it doesn't say much about the game.

The game is confirmed at 720p (which still looks great on my 1080p SXRD). That being said, I know this game is just a remake, but I really wish they upped more than just the graphics. GoWII looks more next-gen to me (gameplay and presentation wise).

"You've got motorcycles, ninjas, swords, and funky magic lightning-like powers. What more do you need?"

You forgot to mention scantily clad women, DRAGONS, and all the other bullshit that 11 year old boys think is cool.

If they're gonna go this far, they might as well go all the way and throw in some robots, zombies, aliens, light sabers, some mind control, and a chainsaw. If they don't go all the way this is stupid.

Johnny,

Yes, they're making a sequel. There's no official word on which system the sequel is coming out for, but one of the quasi-official quotes from Itagaki points to a 360 release. I kind of hope that more and more third party games get released on both systems...let the PS3 have their Resistance, and let the 360 have their Gears, but it really does hurt third party developers when they release exclusively to one system.

Oh, and I find it refreshing to have somebody who knows how to play do the demos/ trailers for Sigma. All too many trailers have somebody behind the controls who looks like they never played a game in their life *ugh*

Just to let you know, there are Zombie style enemies about half way through, and if I recall correctly in Ninja Gaiden Black, there was a lightsaber-like weapon.

Its a hard game, but its not impossible. If they have the "ninja dog" mode they added in ninja gaiden black, anyone can beat the game.

if you have a PS3 and never played Ninja Giaden, do not pass this game up.

this video gives false hope that we can all play like that, when in reality the bad guys would be kicking ass, not us. There's never a time when I am playing NJ relaxed

"Did anyone notice ANY difference between this game and the original on xbox? "

Go back, play the original Xbox version. Then look at this trailer. It's the equivelant of saying "Did anyone notice the difference between DOA3 and DOA4?"

As for me, I remain hopeful. Friday, I DL the demo from the Japanese Playstation Store. Saturday, I make a final verdict.

Guys, anyone mentioning difference in graphics on this needs to wait and see it on an HD TV, not a compressed to hell vid clip on the net...

Previewers who have played the original and Black not once but multiple times went into this skeptical but their response was that they absollutely can't wait to have this, and that the graphics are night and day.

Just like every other "next-gen" title released since the 360 rolled out on the market, the graphics won't mean jack after the first 10 minutes, that is around when they start becoming status quo. Meaning, anyone who is getting this that already played the previous two versions of the same game are going to be sorely disappointed.

Those who haven't played it, welcome to the party, you're gonna have a blast, but don't try to shove on us your superior visuals, they're meaningless.

Ninja Gaiden was one of if not the most frustrating AND rewarding gaming experiences ever. And that's just on the normal difficulty.

It looked fantastic on the Xbox, and I see no point in going to 1080p. Here's to hoping that a sequel comes out across all platforms at 720p so that Team Ninja doesn't have to allocate time/resources to unnecessarily high visual standards and can focus on getting it into my hands sooner. Too bad it won't be for a couple of years...

I wonder how God of War III would turn out if Tomonobu Itagaki lead the project. It would probably be hard as shit.

Almost noone around here has any actual knowledge of the topic at hand before they run off their mouths. This game isn't just Ninja Gaiden with a shiny coat of paint. They've reworked the fighting system, and added new chapters. There is a reason that Ninja Gaiden continues to sell, and that is because it is such a fun, innovative game. Dead or Alive 4 wasn't a bad game by any means, certainly no worse than any previous fighting game, and Xtreme 2 was good at what it was intended for (titillation).

And Itagaki didn't work on Sigma, as he has previously stated. All of his attention is currently going toward Ninja Gaiden 2 for the Xbox 360 (aswell as Ninja Gaiden DS). Have a little faith, Team Ninja is one of the good developers (EA being the worst)

Ninja Gaiden Xbox was so bad ass. I was only able to beat it on normal. Very hard was such a pain in the ass.
I never bothered to pick up NG: Black, just the original.

The difficulty is one of the reasons what made it so great because if gave you a sense of accomplishment. Getting to play as Rachel would be so cool... too bad I have to plans on buying a PS3 anytime soon.

Ahhh Ninja Gaiden... This game gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside, like a kitten... but that kitten is a zombie, on fire, dual chainsaw arms, with laser eyes, riding a motorcycle (blindfolded) 120mph with a side cart, and seated in is death him/(her?)self whom was killed and then brought back from the dead (?) by an evil robot clown who is also a zombie... on fire... and it's chasing after you..... and your riding a unicycle..........

that's on fire

I love this game ;-)
