Awesome. It's about time somebody pulled some crazy move like this. You're fighting an uphill battle against an evil monster 2K, good luck!

I would be happier if they had Hall of Famers Steve Young and Eric Dickerson in the mix.

Awesome, I never was able the thought of playing Madden especially after playing 2k5. All Pro is BOUGHT, ring me up already. BTW how is it Madden on Ps2 has been better than the 360 counterpart for two years in a row? Why is it EA had the exclusive rights for two years but Madden is still pretty much the same game without the great presentation, the hilights, the commentary, the animation or the customization of 2k5. Is EA that terrible a developer or am I seeing it all wrong.

I applaud the effort, but this game needs to have EXCEPTIONAL game-play AND be underpriced ($40 max) to have any success. I'm sorry, but without the NFL license its gonna tough to sell a football game.

yes!! I swear to god, I was this close to going up to Visual Studios and holding them hostage until they made a new NFL 2K game, but thankfully this will save me the time (and money)

I still scoff at anyone that tells me 2k5 was a good football game. I've played it, and Madden's gameplay is way better. Before anyone flames me,

YES THIS IS MY OPINION AND NOT FACT.

I wonder how the stats are gonna play out. The mass majority of these guys should all be rated 99 in their positions.

elvin bethea is my cousin, so ill be interested to see how they do this. im not sure what kind of element they will add to draw people into this, but the majority of gamers are the 18-24's and they might not be all that interested in playing with some of the older players (i know plenty of people who couldnt name a player that played before the turn of the century.) how they do the stats and pricing will definately be a big factor also.

commenter #9,

The game doesnt use a typical "numbers" rating system, instead they're differentiated by their abilities. We'll see how that works....

please tell 2k to add redskin players like Art Monk, Gary Clark and Doug williams, also, what about Randle cunningham if this game looks anything like the 2k basketball, ea needs to run for the hills or take notes, also, I hope they put this on the wii

For the love of God... please, please, please bring back "Dan & Peter" to the announcing booth... even NFL 2K almost 8 years ago had better play by play than this years Madden.

This is an automatic purchase! Bonus points for the Rush intro on the website!

I am pumped for a new football game! I was going to pass on a football game this year because Madden was so bad on the next gen this previous year. I sold Madden within a week of owning it.

I'm sure you guys have heard of Winning Eleven Soccer (Pro Evolution in Europe) and EA's FIFA series. Winning Eleven is a game with far superior gameplay. I've never played any of the 2K football games. All I can say is this, EA tried the same thing with soccer. They locked up all of FIFA's licensing rights. Guess what? Winning Eleven still outsells them in Europe by a lot and if I'm not mistaken, its the highest selling sports game in the world. I'm one to choose Winning Eleven over FIFA anyday (although the 360 version was laaaaaame.) Usually, the games have editing features that makes you able to make the exact jerseys, and edit names so that you pretty much have the team. It's a bit time consuming, but its actually a really cool accomplishment when you do it. I applaud you 2K fans for supporting All-Pro and hope EA finally realizes that all the money on licensing is not gonna help them be the best.

If you look at the list, there's no way it's finished yet. One punter? Six kickers? Your favorite player may not be on the list yet, but give it time.

Hey, anything to ramp up competition so EA just doesn't put an '07 sticker on the newest iteration of Madden and leave it at that. I hate the fact that Madden has basically sucked for the past several years, and blame it on the fact that the lack of competition has left them bloated and complacent. Hopefully someone in the executive offices of the National Football League is a gamer and will rethink their policy of exclusivity in the years to come.

Having said that... Brian Bosworth??? When the hell was Bosworth ever an All-Pro? Maybe we can run his ass over some more with Bo Jackson if they come to their senses and get him to sign.

Kudos to 2K Sports/VC for not throwing in the towel on a professional game. If the prices are consistent with the other games, I'll buy it just to make a point to EA/the NFL.

This has to be a negotiation nightmare. I don't think there is one organization to contact to get the rights to these individuals..

Now, they need to incorporate a 'Hot Coffee' type mod that allows you to customize the uniforms/logos.

Leonida, You soound like a "madden" fanboy.......2K5 was , and still is the best game out bar none (graphix wise and gameplay) .........You idiots, seem to encourage monopolization.......This is america let the ppl decide what platform to use, not the NFL..............The league should be a shame for letting ea get exclusive NFL license rights at all............Thanx 2K sports, my copy is already bought once the game arrives on the market. "Its been a long time coming"...........Let's put an end to all the greedy folks gettin away with this.......EA saw the potential for profits and they cut the NFL in on the deal to get the exclusive rights, no longer allowing a free market for any competitors.......Sounds like they were afraid of their competitors......This has crippled the customer from having a choice. This is america.............Let the ppl have a choice!!!!!

I wish this game had Lawrence Taylor! Also, no Steve Largent? I like the idea, but will rent this game before I buy it. They left out the entire Steelers of the 1970s. Why couldn't they have put in more players from that era. Good idea, but not enough Hall of Famers for my liking. I mean, no Mel Blount? C'mon, guys!
