I really hope the success of Phoenix Wright and Hotel Dusk prompt more text based adventures to US shores. These kinds of games are so populare over their, PSP has Adventure Maker software.

"the first in the series made specifically for the DS"

Wait, what? What other systems are the others on?

There were PC versions in Japan, but from what I hear, they were pretty much just GBA emulators that ran the GBA games.

Text kicks so much ass. Too bad it's not HD text though.

Yes, the original releases of Gyakuten Saiban 1-3 were on GBA. There were some PC versions recently (2005 and newer), but are basically the GBA versions emulated.

The DS versions are the first versions to be exported out of Japan. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (the first English game) is the first Gyakuten Saiban that makes use of two screens, Touch Screen, and microphone. Additionally, a fifth chapter was added (Rise from the Ashes) that wasn't in the GBA original.

Justice For All is Gyakuten Saiban 2 given the DS face-lift. However, it doesn't have any additional content over the GBA original (aside from being in English for the first time). And it looks like Trials and Tribulations (Gyakuten Saiban 3) will be the same (however, the GBA version of GS3 did have 5 chapters, whereas GS1 and GS2 for GBA only had four each).

@sheppy

Thanks, I just beat Ace Attorney for the DS. I didn't realize it was originally for the GBA.
