First look: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
16
As promised, the new Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare trailer (embedded above) aired on ESPN and hit the intertubes with a vengeance. And after watching their little teaser, you can color us impressed. Not only is the modern warfare theme a welcome change to the COD franchise, but the shear amount of action and destruction makes us want to go out and preorder Infinity Ward's little gem right now. And if you are interested, they also released an extended HD version of the trailer on the game's official website CharlieOscarDelta.com. Take a look, think it over, and judge for yourself as we know COD fans are eager to see Infinity Ward take back the developer's reigns.
[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

It is looking very sweet but the terrorist thing sound to me like they combining Splinter cell and Rainbow six in a Call of duty way... If you r a grafix whore you'll like this..
I hope this game comes next year, wait let me finish. Then it would be hopfully bug free ore at least no mayor bugs that annoy you like COD3. Also the less fortunate in the monetary side will have the chance to buy the other already announced games.

It just shows how much we love you, Dustin.
That trailer looks awesome. I've never been a fan of the CoD series because of the genre, but this one looks interesting..

Is it going to play like the other games in which there are an unlimited amount of players to help you?
Or will it be like Rainbow in which you spend half your time trying to keep the idiotic team mates alive?
They are so irritating because they love standing up and being shot at no matter how many times you tell them to go to cover you get "I'm sorry I can't do that'.
Hey, I'm team leader you'll do as I say or I'll shoot you for mutiny. They need to add that as a feature to the next Rainbows, shoot a team mate for mutiny so they stop making your life harder by having to keep them alive.

I think this will feel and play a lot like COD but have a more modern twist, with more advanced weapons and vehicles.

I'm assuming this was made with the in-game engine. That being said, I'm not impressed by it. The FPS market is becoming over-saturated and it'll take more than that to make me care about it. Sorry to be a downer.

I wish they would do a shooter in the Korean theater or perhaps dare I say it a game set in Vietnam...(I don't count the one previously done in Vietnam because well they sucked!)

am not sure what would 'impress' you given that the COD series has all been first person shooters...

To me this is a very big disappointment.
I've always loved the CoD series because it's one of the few WWII games that don't get boring in a few minutes. Most Modern War games(eg. GRAW, Conflict: Desert Storm, etc.) get boring quick. Those games are always packed with non-existent technology and gadgets that doesn't work very well to entertain.
