Welcome to another installment of DIY-erless, where we point you towards fun and interesting ways to potentially hurt yourself in the pursuit of making things that were once constrained by the shackles and fetters of wires, wireless. Today, we'll look at creating a wireless NES pad. Sounds pretty boring, right? That's because we didn't get to the good part yet: it's a wireless NES pad that works with your Wii and all of its Virtual Console yumyums. The same site is also hosting a wireless SNES pad guide, if that's more your thing. Toss in some wireless Genesis and TurboGrafx-16 controllers and you've got an entire wireless VC arsenal.
Be warned: the process involves all sorts of esoteric items, like microcontrollers, IC socket strips, and crystals (no, seriously) so weekend soldering fans might want to reconsider.

Oh man, that would be so awesome to bust out.
But, alas, (as I found out from my Engineering class) I'm not fit to be a solderer. I failed that part of the class, lol.

Wow $50 bucks! That's cheaper than getting a Wiimote and a Virtual Console controller by 15 bucks.
...
Wait...
But I look kinda cool right?
Well I can't play anything except master system and NES games...
Retro is kewl now! So is My Chemical Romance, and Fallout Boy! Wear an NES Controller around my belt to get anorexic women to look at me!
Is anyone else tired of this? I mean cmon, get real.

@2. Why don't you go cut yourself. Retro IS in. Sure, I never PLAYED a Sega Genersis, but I can list all the games in alphabetical order. Now excuse me, I have to go cut myself.

Does anybody know if there is a possibility of this guy (or one of his modder buds) doing this as a service? I would be happy to mail him a NES pad and an iPod mini battery along with a check for the cost of his other parts plus 30-40 bucks, I don't know if thats something that would actually make sense economically to do (since I'm not clear on the precise amount of time/effort involved), I just know that I really want one of these controllers but lack the skill and dexterity to Do It Myself.

Aberu: if you're into that stuff that's your buisness. Though, don't forget TG16 titles, they used an identical layout to the NES.
