New games this week: Spider-Man 3 edition

I have always been the type to go for the underdog and against the odds. Whether its a sports team or game machine. I like being in the minority. It makes you stronger.

Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin for the SEGA-CD (not the lame Genesis crap) was awesome and inspired the following.

Spider-Man for N64/PSX/DC was Activision's first go at their current formula.

I also have Spider-Man The Movie 1&2 for GC. I really have to say that I love 2 tons more than the first.

Also I have Spider-Man/Venom: Seperation Anxiety, the prequel[sequel?] to Maximum Carnage, it's a fun beat-em-up.

I haven't yet played Ultimate Spider-Man, but it sounds decent.

I really hope the Wii version turns out good. :)

God I hate cad programs....

Never got the hang of them. So I stick to the more artistic suites.

I wanted to get into the artistic side of it but I got dragged into aviation. One one these days I will go back for 3D animator/designer. I have 3D Studio Max6 at home. I have a few animations I created from scratch. I will have to post them sometime.

I changed my mind. I like the Wii best now.

Wii knew you'd come around Jack. It must've been Mystical Ninja. You know when you play the Gradius minigame in that one, if you enter the Konami code your ship EXPLODES!?!?

Anybody notice that this week the 360 gets 2 games, the PS3 gets 2 games, and the Wii gets 6? Drought my ass gentlemen, drought my ass.

360 has 178 discs and 56 downloadables.
Wii has 50 discs and 84 downloadables.
PS3 has 40 discs and 24 downloadables.

Are you guys at Joystiq okay? I mean this isn't a Wii or DS game!!

The drought is referring to games that don't feel like gimmicky minigames. Actual complete games outside of; OMGZ cut stuff with the movements of the controller! Steer with the controller! Swing the controller like a bat! Har har our games cost nothing to make, and we sell them for same price har har! Bad minigames that would be rejected on other consoles lineups in the same form print money!

And forgot to mention, look at your numbers for this week.

Sony: 14 games
Nintendo: 9 games
PC: 8 games
M$: 3 games

Um, was I arguing DS, PS2, or PSP there? Those numbers don't affect the fact that the DS outsells the PS2 and PSP combined every week in every territory. I'm talking about 7th gen home consoles. You can talk about PS2 all you want, but then you sound like Sony's PR that is always ever so happy to change the subject from PS3 to PS2. At this rate, the PS3 won't sell half of what the PS2 sold. Something needs to happen... what's the word? MAGIC.

And if you're going to argue that the Wii only has bad games based on some of its worst games, let me just point at games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Bomberman: Act Zero, and your nice massive damage game. Each system gets a lot of crap. In fact, MOST games are crap, or had you not noticed?

Why is Spiderman 3 listed twice under PlayStation 3? Is there really going to be an non-limited edition available? That seems slightly redundant... unless, perhaps, the limited edition is going to be $20 more expensive (like with DVD's).

I saw Legend of the Dragon and read "Legend of Dragoon" and got really excited...then really disappointed.

For those playing Mystical Ninja, might I recommend jumping onto your partner's shoulders for a piggyback ride during the harder platforming areas, especially towards the end. It also looks funny, which is good.

Wrath of Cortex? Rerelease, again? I thought this was already on Greatest Hits.

I have to agree with you on that. I REALLY want a PS3. I know the cost is high and the selection of games is low, but I don't always need first-rate five-star PS titles to keep me satisfied. I can easily go into fanboy mode about the PS3, but I don't feel I need to...yet. For now, I just want Spide-Man 3 for my PS2. That's a console nobody can bash. After all it still outsells ALL the 3rd gen machines (except the DS).
