I'm pretty sure getting chewed on by a puppy and then what looks to be dropped from an airplane, without a parachute, into a vat of crumbled potato chips and lard might be the worst offenses. Just because you don't like Veggie Tales, how are those stickers any different than the other hideous "skins" stickers I see on DSes everywhere, other than the condition of the stickers, which pretty well matches the sad condition of the rest of the DS? Is it just becaue they are not Nintendo themed stickers? Veggies are good for you! :)

Holy. Freaking. Crap. That poor, poor DS.

*gets out some baby wipes, a hair dryer, and a screw driver and starts to prepare it for the viewing service*

You know, it's things like this that make me realize just how anal-retentive I am about my DS-Lite.

I threaten to hurt people for not washing their hands before they touch it or not putting it back in it's carrying-case.

For shame on this blasphemous gamer! The Lite shall have it's revenge!

Looks like it was given to a careless kid who has no sense of money or property.

Larry, the difference between those VeggieTales stickers and a system skin is a skin is meant to be easy to remove. Stickers are not. Hence, the mess left behind when trying to take them off.

A good game device doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. A Game.com, however...

That is some sick stuff!! Makes me mad and sad. How can someone / something do this to such a great gadget! Someone should stop those people from using gadgets all together!!

Is that all it took to wreck the DS Lite? I seem to remember a certain Gameboy at the Nintendo World Store that had been hit by a shell in the Gulf War and came out smiling ;) I also recall a news article from a few years back where a GBC had been lost out in the grass. Snowed on and put through a lawnmower. The outside shell was battered like mad but it still worked!

Stopped working my ass! That guy was lucky he didn't try to get an exchange from me because I would have sent him packing! Extended warranty doesn't cover stuff like... like that!!!

Stuff like that annoys me greatly, because it ruins returns for people who have a legit complaint. This is why stores are always revising their return policies to make them stricter. It boggles my mind that some jerk thought they had a right to return a product in that condition (and some idiot accepted it).

That Flash Castlevania game loaded in my other Firefox tab, so the awesome sad music kicked in while I was looking at these pictures. It almost killed me.

@Nik

Damn, I totally remember that GBC article. It was in Nintendo Power if I'm not mistaken. I was hoping this blog was about how this DS got beat to shit but kept on ticking. I guess they're not made like they once were.

I just keep mine in my messenger bag, with no case or anything. It gets banged around a lot but it's still in perfect condition. My PSP on the other hand I have to keep in a case. Stupid poorly designed "portable" machine.

I really like the beatup, scratched up, well-worn cyberpunk look to technology. Wrap your DS Lite in duct tape. Work it over with steel wool. Give it an acid bath or something. Scuff it up, cover it with multiple layers of stickers, add some personality to it and destroy the branding!

But please, for the love of all that is electronic, keep it in WORKING order!

My old lady got pissed off at me and threw my a FEW times. The outside shell is cracked and and scuffed up, the volume is stuck in the full on position and the stylus will forever fall out now, but it still works! God bless Nintendo!

*Pulls out an AK-47*
THAT DS SHALL HAVE REVENGE!!!!!!!!
And on the topic that the GBC was tougher, that's because it's BIGGER. I'm suprised one could make it through a lawnmower or a shell from the Gulf War, but those things were freaking tanks!
