Like a little girl struggling to keep her favorite doll out of the garage sale bin, David Jaffe is returning to the world of Calling All Cars to make some fixes and revise some of the criticisms the title received via reviews, even after announcing that the title has gone gold, according to a post he left on the NeoGAF forums. The title, therefore, has been delayed for an unspecified time.
The bug fixes concern network connection and voice chat issues. Jaffe apologizes, of course, and notes that the previously-mentioned release date was never official. ("Sony was kinda annoyed that I claimed 5/3 as release date," he said.) Would gamers have preferred the game be released on time with a patch promised at a later time? We're leaning towards no, given the importance of multiplayer in the game, although our opinions might sway depending on how long these two "key bugs" take to fix.

Kudos for Jaffe to be the first developer to listen to critics before the game is even released. The funny thing is, Ken doesn't even have a PS3 yet he is complaining like a moronic douchebag.
Ken, I'm gonna tell you the truth, but please don't whine afterwards, ok? Ready? 3, 2, 1...
You're a dipshit. Anything you've said on joystiq or any other site or anywhere uptil now has been rendered worthless. You've proven yourself to be a fanboy, congratulations.

Sony can't catch a break!! This guy Jaffe seems like a big cry baby if you ask me, look if the game passed the fist time he could have released a patch to fix the small problems and alos release a couple of FREE maps to give a little more to the fans!!
There were olny a few problems that GS spoke about and I don't believe that it warrants a delay!!

I have to ask why it took professional reviewers to point out the flaws if said flaws could have been found letting people play the game.
But hey, whatev.

The "flaw" was the computer was too powerful with a certain weapon. Which could easily have been overlooked by someone that lacks skill while testing the game. So after IGN said the PC was overpowered with the magnet, Jaffe went back and looked, then was like, Hey! It is! and thusly "balanced" it. Also it was only a problem in single player, a mode which was likely overlooked once the multiplayer code went into testing.
Testing is a fickle mistress, Hell, sometimes it takes 2+ hours to figure out how many ways you can input something to a system. Testing is definitely not the industry I want to get into.

I was kidding. Obviously you didn't read two posts down. I'm glad that I got you fired up though. ;)
I respect David Jaffe for trying to fix what was broke, but I think that he should have fixed it in the first place. :)
Though I didn't enjoy GoW as much as other people, I recognize why it's a good game.
And you're right, I don't own a PS3... which is a good thing.

You're absolutely right Aex.
It's true about all programming though. You have hindsight 20/20 while programming a game. But it takes one hard ass comment to make you rethink what you did with the game.

Thanks for the response. :)
Yeah I've heard the difficulties of testing a game for hours and hours, and it's probably frustrating after all that time something still slips through. I think it was nice of Jaffe to say sorry for the delay and explaining the problems.
I think I can take his assault on Joystiq in stride. It happens. :P

I see you have a life, kidding and firing up people you don't even know on internet forums. Congratulations. (Hint: Read the definition of internet troll)

Wait a second... weren't you kidding? You called him a douche, then you say you're kidding... then you say he SHOULD have fixed it... but weren't you kidding? Oh, I forget that trolls and fanboys make no sense at all.
As someone said above, every game developer "SHOULD have fixed" the games flaws before the game came out. But sometimes it takes someone that is actually *not* working on the game to see flaws. Not seeing errors in your own work is natural, it happens to everyone. Your criticism is coming a fanboy rant, since either way he losses: First for making a flawed game (which isn't coming out anyway), and second for actually DARING to correct it (which should be seen as a good thing; was there a developer that has ever corrected a game because of public response? Kudos to the first one).
"And you're right, I don't own a PS3... which is a good thing."
Which is a good thing, since it renders your opinion about anything PS3 related useless.

It's true that Worms only had three themes, but in that game the maps are randomly generated and that's what provides replay value - not that it's 'snow covered' this time.
If there were only four map layouts for Worms, people would have been outraged. That would have destroyed the game's replay, as people figured out sweet spots.

I love the fact that this Jaffe cry baby goes off on Gamespot for giving the game a low score, then has to postpone the games release because of serious bugs affecting gameplay. Gee who was right and who owes Gamespot an apology.
