Yes, because one reviewer gives it a 6.7, it negates all the other reviews before it. Great logic there.

Because 8.5, 8.0, and 6.7 is not reliable. You guys really are as unprofessional as Jaffe whined about.

Good to see you troll your own articles.

$5 is a rip off for this game. It should be $2 at most.

And if you think $5 is too much, then don't buy it. Or at least head back to your 360 where you can pay for wallpaper. I'm just saying.

@7 Good one. Now let's see you contribute something other than revealing your insecurities about another commenter's posts.

Oh wait. You can't.

I'm pretty sure that the U.S. is getting Super Rub-A-Dub this week to go along with Gauntlet II, so the $5 game won't be too lonely.

This is exactly the reason I spend nearly €600 euros on my PS3 to have a shocking catalogue of game releases and total farce or selection of games on the PSN network.

Really why do they bother, Gauntlet II is 21 years old. Really is this all the PS3 is good for playing retro, retro games.

Wait, wait. 8 is a "bad" rating?! Heh. What do you think Gauntlet II would be rated today?

Har har, now all the PS3 kiddies can shut up about XBLA getting lame dust-collecting arcade ports that no one plays. Enjoy your Gauntlet II while waiting to be further disappointed by Calling All Cars, whch you'll undoubtedly come on here and say isn't worth 10 bucks when/if it's finally released.

@ 15

Not sure it's fanboyism, more of a case of what is the point of releasing something so date on a 7th generation machine. That been said its not likely to appear on the European Network along with all the recently account items for months.

I bought my console on day one, I've completed Resistance in 3 days since then I've hardly touched it and I've yet to see another game worth my time or money.

People want see a reason for spending all this money not for ancient games that they have a nerve to even ask any money for.

Did anyone download the trailer for this on PSN? They build it up so much with this elaborate Hollywood-esque score with CG titles and when they finally show the game...ouch! It's pretty funny although I'm not sure that was the intent.

@18

I'm surprised that comment made it to #18, and not sooner.

Either way, Gauntlet II hasn't aged well at all. I was playing it on the NES the other day with a friend, and yeah, we didn't make it past like 3 or 4 stages before we put in some Double Dragon.

It does not hurt anyone to add a classic retro games available. Don't buy it and be fine. But we oldies might see it a worth 5-10 euros, well I for sure buy this title.

Think about it, crap downloadable mobile phone games cost same or more and I have never played any good cell phone game. Now you can buy Gripshift, Blast Factor etc... games. And more and more old classic titles.

Maury stop being such a fanboy and go back to watching Blu-Ray movies. You seem to be the only one insecure in others comments since you seem to have commented the most in this blog entry.

On topic - I think we will see this next week for sure. They probably found a last minute bug or perhaps doing some last minute tweaks from the feedback it received. Not the end of the world.

Yeah, my comment got edited. I pointed out that the writer said "the PS3 gauntlet" when it should be "the PS3 gantlet." Not only was my comment deleted, Joystiq didn't even fix the error. Talk about a commitment to excellence. Seriously guys. Look it up in a writing style guide. This post gets it wrong.

Dirk: the comments are a place to discuss the topic, not the spelling. We'll often correct the spelling error if there is one and delete the comment to not disrupt the conversation. In this case, gantlet is an accepted variation of "gauntlet." Both are correct:

Fair enough, C. Grant.

Though for what it's worth, I'm a copyeditor for a living. Neither of the dictionaries or style guides we use have accepted using gauntlet and gantlet interchangeably. And the online dictionary you link to seems to suggest that they're only used interchangeably because people have been misspelling "gantlet" for so long. I can't wait until we can use its/it's and prophet/profit interchangeably, too.

Anyhow, if this is the dictionary you guys use to set your style, my bad. Thanks for the clarification. I'll refrain from discussing grammar in comments, unless it's inappropriate use of "begging the question," which is not a synonym for "raising the question." Then it may be too hard to resist.
