Looks like someone got their Electronic Gaming Monthly issue early and, as is customary it seems with every month's release, uploaded the juiciest scans online. The June 2007 issue, on sale May 8, has a feature on God of War: Chains of Olympus for PSP and German site consolewars.de has the images in a nice gallery for us to peruse.
Chains of Olympus is looking very pretty, though these scenes look similar to what we saw in the trailer. We can't wait to see how the action title translates in the forthcoming demo.

JAFFE CONQUERS ALL PLATFORMS!
Oh you know, something.
Someone should make that guy a congratulatory YMNTD so he'll have some self-esteem every once in a while.
In on-topic news, I'm hoping the designers had the good sense NOT to include balance puzzles. I throw a controller...no big deal...I throw my PSP...slightly bigger problem.

They're going to make a ton of cash selling two copies.
Should have made it for the DS.

It's ok. It's probably the best the PSP can do. But it still looks a bit bright and devoid of mood at this phase.
Either way, finally a game that should play well on PSP. So many games are just ports of console games that should have stayed at home. But this one...the controls are not super complicated and there are more than enough buttons to do what is needed.
For once, I think a PSP game might do well just because it could be designed well.

Dud, you clearly don't understand the DS/PSP. Here are some graphs that might be helpful:

Sam, are you sure that was the graph you intended? "Units sold in Japan in April" is quite the non-sequitur and rather nonsensical.

Why do people still think Jaffe is designing the damn GoW games?

required: Just because a system is capable of more polys and effects on screen at once does not mean that the games are more fun as a result.
The DS game library as a whole, in terms of fun is LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than the PSPs. Don't bother pointing out bad games because that's irrelevant and both systems have them.

PSP needs more RAM because it has to load from a UMD disc. Also, having X amount of MHz does not mean X amount the power.

bgss, fun is subjective. I find that the DS is less fun than the GBA and no fun when compared to the PSP. By the way, it's fun-ny that all you have to hold on to in this discussion are your "sales"

I agree with the "fun is subjective". GoW is fun and so are many of the games on my PSP, plus it would work since any camera issues that result from lacking a second analog stick would be null (GoW uses a set camera).
The PSP is the more technologically advanced and the DS is cheaper, making it more easily acceptable to a more casual audience. Graphics don't necessarily make a game more fun and neither does having two screens or touchscreen controls. Can't while one has sold twice as many as the other in Japan, that both are fun?

Scott: It was a joke at Jaffe's expense due to his recent ranting, you know? Topical target and all that. I know he's not desiging GoW anymore.

@RandomGuy: Ok, I couldn't pick up on the sarcasm
1) It's hard to notice sarcasm on the internet
&
2) I've seen other people actually think that.

@Scott
not to bash ya, but that was pretty obvious sarcasm right there. it's ok tho, you will get used to reading it and getting the meaning behind it soon. You're new here, right?
I have two concerns about this game.
* will the frame-rate keep up?
* Will the combat system hold true?
No concern about the camera whatsoever, I already ordered the Demo, now it's all about waiting.

Daxter is one of the best games on PSP. It plays well, has short load times, and looks and sounds great. My only worries about PSP God of War stem from the PSP itself - the analog nub is horrible, and it has too few buttons to simply translate the PS2 control scheme over.
Still, the developer pedigree is impeccable. I have high hopes.

Look people if we're going to start linking pie charts lets at least do it on a worthy subject. It never ceases to amaze me how passionatly people argue when
neither Nintendo nor Sony have any personal connection to you, to them you're just rubes with money for the taking. Being multi-million dollar companies means they don't need people like you(required) to do their advertising for them.

Dude, just because the DS sells more doesnt necesssarily means it is better.
Does the sports car need to outsell the sedan in order to be defined as "better" ?
To each his own man. Everyone has a different idea of how "better" is. Both system have their own merits and shortcomings. Fanboy wars are just so lame. Get over it.
