The funny thing is that RE4 Wii Edition will be the best looking wii game available.

It sometimes amazes me what goes through game companies minds. Is it just being lazy? Resident Evil for the Wii should be an all new adventure or direct continuation of Resident Evil 4. Hey, I am all for the Wii controls, but isn't it obvious that a continuation would be better?

Awesome news about the price. I missed the GC version, so I am really looking forward to the controls, and 480p widescreen on my 96" projector screen with surround sound. That should make me crap myself a few times . . .

Wii "pseudo-budget price." is $30.

"PS2 is budget priced at $20."

If you take into account how horrendous the load times and textures were on the PS2 version, the Wii version is a real bargain. I bought the PS2 version for the extras but gave up long before unlocking them because of the god awful load times. Frustrating is not a strong enough word....
I put several hundreds of hours into the GC version and it felt like a HUGE step backwards on the PS2 version.

The Wii version brings CLOSURE to the whole PS2 ordeal.

BTW, I do not feel like a victim of their "blatant money-grab". I am supporting a company that made a masterpiece. I want to encourage them to continue the series and to take big risks with the franchise in the future. RE4 was a major change from the standard RE fare.

(For the record, when I first heard that 'RE4 will not have zombies 'proper', I was appalled and vowed to stop giving a shit about RE... and as we all found out, change is good.)

The European boxart with its B&W motif paint the creepy atmosphere. However the American boxart appeals to my gory and campy horror fan side. The first chance I'll play RE4.

I personally don't like the Euro boxart to be honest and much prefer the US boxart.

Now all we need is a 30 euro pricetag in Europe and not 50+ Euro like they do with so many Wii games still. God knows I have already given up hope on that though.

Buying the same game three times doesn't encourage Capcom to take risks. It encourages them to release RE4 a few more times.

im completely fine with old games being made with Wii functionality

i just hope they do it to Giest, which was by far the best multiplayer experience i've ever had with a game( capture the host mode)

and im very glad they lowered the price, if they charged full price it would be lame

but i personally have no problem with this

@chudgoo, who cares? The PS2 game was equally good, even if the graphics were slightly downgraded. This happens when porting games across platforms. Just look at all the Wii ports of PS2 games!

And yes I played both the GCN and PS2 version. The GCN's graphic was superior, but who cares. As long as more people play RE4.

I don't mind a company re-releasing something if they add enough to the product to justify another purchase and charge a reasonable price (29.99). Adding the PS2 extra's, real Widescreen support and being able to point and shoot with out using the analogue stick is fine for me.
It will sell very well the Wii has been bought by many people who have not owned a GameCube.

Woah, I think it's a great idea to re-make it for Wii BUT I demand that all the goodies from the PS2 version (true 16:9 aspect and ada wong extra levels) are included.

Well, it's obvious the author isn't in favor of this game. And, seriously, we need to get off the whole European box art thing. If you like it that much just print it out and slip it into your case.

When I first heard of the Wii's pointer capabilities, I always wondered how RE4 (an already excellent game) would have been if I could have used the wiimote to aim and shoot. IGN has played the Wii version of the game and they seem to be impressed by the new controls and the inclusion of true 16x9 anamorphic widescreen support, all the PS2 extras that were not in the GC version, and the still gorgeous graphics of the GC version. I will gladly pay $30 to play this gaming masterpiece. I know a lot of wiimakes (GC ports) have let a lot of people down with "tacked-on controls," but everything I've seen of RE4 on the Wii leads me to believe that this will be the definitive version of the game. I envy those that get to experience this game for the first time on the Wii!

The Wii version was 4:3 letterboxed to widescreen, so the resolution was pretty bad. All that massive graphical detail was too much for the Cube in full resolution, so the Wii version will finally do it justice with full screen progressive 16:9. That's already reason enough for me. (The PS2 version was full widescreen, but the graphics details had been scaled down noticeably.)
