So vaporware now includes mostly finished games with bug-free demos that I've actually played...?

Considering Duke Nukem Forever has been in development for 10 years now, I would say timeshift has a little ways to go yet.

I'll tell you this much.
I worked on this game when i use to work at Atari. this looks light years beyond what we had. Im actually impressed. From the looks of it the original story and main character have been tossed out but the core of the game play is still there. having already played and beat the original which was gold almost 2 years ago. I still might actually pick this up

No-one else found it odd that his machine gun still worked when time was slowed down, even though he took it from someone else?

That's one of the worst trailers i've seen in a while. The girls voice starts it down the cliche road, then we're treated to what looks to be some mediocre CGI of a faceless character doing things we've all seen done far better before.

When did it become all the rage to put out "trailers" that had nothing---NOTHING to do with any in-game assets of any kind?!
Was it E3 2005? Was it Call of Duty breaking the law in Britain?

Is it so much to ask of a trailer to show what we can expect from PLAYING the f###ing thing? Not "heres some pretty graphics that we won't be seeing for another 15 years, and this is our 'concept.'"

End rant

Wow, it had a way above average rating on game trailers and about everyone there said how much they loved it yet here everyone says they hate it. I guess it's no wonder since this site is a part of the fanboy community. It's just funny to see two complete opposite responses.

I don't think its fanboy-ish to be wary of 100% fmv cgi sequences that we all know from experience, will be nothing like the game they are supposedly advertising.

I don't think that these CGI movies are bad all the time - only when they are the ONLY thing anyone's seen of the game (like this one and Killzone). The Halo trailers, for instance, although CGI, were fine because A) The screenshots and some footage of gameplay was already out there and B) The videos were more conservative in their CGI-ness (i.e. it looked more "doable" than something like Killzone's trailer).

i think they need this CG trailer. they need to exceed the expectations of the people that played the 360's launch demo. i played that demo and i thought it was alright. the trailer reminds me of FEAR. i think its the army guys.

@7.Negativecool

Actually all the concepts in the game are playable ones. Stopping time to take someone's gun, and then shoot everyone is in the game, and as far as I know, so is busting that tank by throwing something(grenade?) in there. If you plaed the old demo you would know that, and although it does look different(a commenter said he worked and played on the old version) I doubt they took any of that out

@5Ephibian
Yeah, I was like "hey no fair, the bullets are all slow when they have them, but with this guy it's fine?" Then I stopped to think and realized that this is a game about a dude in a suit that let's him slow down, stop, and rewind time. I just hope the developers came up with a good in game excuse... "Ah, well, the quantum accelarator suit only works on objects that you interact with, it's all very scientific you know, it would be incredibly hard to explain how the suit works"
-"so wait, everything would be slow until I touch it? How? that makes absolutely no sense!" -"uuuum, magic"

I'm just happy with the gameplay... I stopped hoping more from games a long time ago...

Ahem, "....graphics that we won't be seeing for another 15 years, and this is our 'CONCEPT'."

Based on my statement I wasn't implying this isn't the way the game will be played. You will be able to slow time, grab a gun, and feed a tank a grenade...great.
What you will never see in this game, is the visuals and interactivity this trailer is representing. And the "concept" of what you will be doing in the game, will also fall far short of the freedom seen in this "trailer."

Well, yeah, no shit. That's how it always is. But all the concepts are still real.

Meh. I didn't have a problem with the GRAPHICS in the demo. The game just wasn't any fun to play. I think there are some key gameplay problems in the core game design. From this video, those gameplay aspects, WHICH WEREN'T ANY FUN, are still in the game.

It's a game entirely based around Wii-style novelty gameplay.

#4, I'm glad to see a possible developer who worked on the game say that!! I was excited about this game when it was first announceed way back when. This trailer looks great and I certianly don't mind waiting for a game to finish baking in the oven!! If this game does turn out great then it will be worth the wait!!

X-Play had some ingame footage yesterday, and the game had a very similar grit and feel based on what I saw. Seeing the game footage first and then watching this trailer, I'm actually pretty psyched about the potential.

Guys - I work with the developer. These are in-game assets and the trailer looks very similar to the game. You will see soon enough.
