Today's most 'behind the lines' video: the making of C&C3's cinematics
This is a documentary for Command & Conquer 3 fans or anyone with a penchant for Telecommunication Arts: a four-part documentary on the making of the cinematics for the strategy title.
Part one is a discussion with some of the producers concerning the decision to go with real life actors as opposed to, say, CG characters. Part two features interviews with Nod actors Joe Kucan (a very soft-spoken individual unlike his Kane counterpart), Tricia Helfer and Josh Holloway, and GDI actress Jennifer Morrison. Part three continues the interviews with GDI actors Michael Ironside, Billy Dee "don't call me Lando" Williams, John Huck, Shannon Cook and Grace Park. Part four discusses the setting, costume and makeup designs. All with behind-the-scenes footage of the production with green and blue screens very visible.
Our favorite line comes from Ironside in part three. Discussing how the actors needed to act to the camera, he said that he had to relate to a range of personality "male, female ranging from 16 to 66 and different mode of dress at different times of day with different forms of food in their hand while they're playing." Video embedded after the break.

... I paid to get this and you're making it available for the entire Internet to see for free?
So much for that freaking Kane Edition.

Man, playing the demo I was really disappointed in Jennnifer Morrison's voice acting. She sucked in this. Stick to your annoying character on HOUSE please!

But what about Michael "Sam Fisher" Ironside?
Isn't his past gaming-related performance of note?

5. Nawww - you got a box that says "Kane Edition" and its got some type of numbering on it - whooohoo. Limited Edition all the way baby.

Not jumping in with the Kane vs Not Kane edition, I have to say that I love C&C's real actors. The stuff can be cheezy but honestly, it's what makes the games so much better in my eyes.

I disagree Firegirl. Playing the game for the first time and seeing her pop up at the beginning of the tutorial was awesome. And there's nothing wrong with her voice acting ability.

I completely agree with Aprime! Here is europe there was contraverse (sp?) over the fact, the kane edition was advertised to have extra maps, it turns out only canada and america received these maps. now the videos have been released! paying the extra money for the kane edition got you no more then the normal edition!!
