Connect360 having hiccups with latest update

I DID use Connect360, but I haven't had the chance (or bothered) since the update.

i noticed both of these issues last night. looking forward to the fixes.

I do use Connect360 but I don't use it for video. I may do this now as I've been encoding my DVDs for my future AppleTV purchase. This may not happen if my 360 streams my videos well. We'll see once Nullriver fixes this problem.

In response to thechiman, endadget recently did an article on the new update and streaming, and actually said it was better than the AppleTV (it can stream 1080p videos at 10mbps, AppleTV can only manage 720p at 5mbps).

Yeah I had that issue last night and was going crazy trying to get it to work. Glad a update is in the works.

I use it, but I haven't used it for video yet. I could never properly get Quicktime to export a WMV file, so it was pretty useless. With this update, however, I seriously plan on using video streaming. I know for a fact that my EyeTV can export to H.264 because it has AppleTV support. My hope is to set it up to automatically export so everything I record is available to watch on my actual TV.

I use Connect360 a lot, mostly for mp3 sharing but also to watch the HD video reviews and trailers from Gamespot and IGN. It works very well. I haven't used it since the dash update.

i noticed these issues as soon as i upgraded yesterday. it's a great app and has worked perfectly up until now, so i'm looking forward to the update to make it work properly. the developer has been great with updates thus far, always improving on the features.

I use it all the time for MP3 files and the occasional iPhoto album. The ability to stream H.264 vids will be a great addition.

Anyone know if the spring update fixed the compatablity issue with the 360 wireless and the new Apple Extreme N router when using a secure network?

I am really looking forward to this update. For me it will make the purchase of an Apple TV futile because I don't have a HDTV and yet I will still be able to stream H.264 to the 360. Please hurry NullRiver!

I haven't heard of Connect360 but will deffo look into getting this hooked up to my Mac. Thanks 360Fanboy for the Mac love. :)

i love connect 360, i run all my mp3's through it everyday. I dare say i'm using the 360 more for listening to my 15,000 plus record collection than I am for gaming.

I use it for audio. one of the best 10buxes I ever spent.

I can't wait for the update. I've been checking to see if they've updated regularly. I streamed a few WMV files, but I'm looking forward to this new streaming options.

I'd like to hook up my ipod to stream video, but I haven't tried it yet.

I would use my 360 for video streaming purposes, but, personally, I don't trust MS to deliver a product that isn't under the constant shadow of the RRoD at any time (in fact, my premium gave the RRoD the very same day I bought the Elite). I won't trust the centerpiece of my entertainment to MS. Ever. Gaming is fine, my entire movie colection isn't. Plus, who the hell wants to watch movies in stereo these days?


I'll be getting a Mac mini as soon as the Airport card is updated to 802.11n to act as my video server.

I discovered 360Connect about 3 months ago. Absolutely love it for streaming music and video. As a matter of fact, I rarely watch videos on my Mac anymore, when I could be watching it on my 46' HDTV. (For the adults... nothing like internet p0rn on a big screen and psuedo-surround sound. :-) If you have a Mac and a 360, this is definitely a must purchase. I'm waiting on the update anxiously myself.

I just checked out "The Kost on YouTube"... not impressed. If he used more facts regarding Mac vs PC gaming I might have bought into his rhetoric. The "blah blah Mac gaming is better" and "DirectX sucks blah blah" isn't the point.

The point? Microsoft spends millions of more dollars in gaming than Apple does. And honestly, I don't think Jobs cares.

I use it and love it! I have been using since the first release, and it has been as solid as using windows connect software. I use it to stream all of my photos and music. And I also stream some videos if I am not too lazy to convert to wmv(full movies streaming wirelessly). Now I'll only have to take my videos from divx/xvid to h.264. (one mpeg4 for another I suppose) I cannot say enough.

I use it- you can put internet radio stations on your playlists and stream 'em through to the xbox. Plus all my mp3s, which work great since the update. Waiting on video update so I can watch my... er... documentaries... on my HD.

Connect 360 is an excellent piece of software I've used since it debuted. I stream mp3's to my console, but noticed the new video issue yesterday when I tried to see if the new video compatiblity worked. I'm sure they'll update it quickly and we'll have another year without any problems.

Really, the xbox 360 is the perfect platform for a Mac user who loves gaming, which is lacking on the Mac. Think about it: the 360 is a closed platform, with a single manufacturer controlling the hardware and OS. While the console platform is even tighter in certifying games than a computer platform, I think they compliment each perfectly, and I'm proud to be a fanboy for both.

I swear, people who constantly worry about their 360 suffering the RRoD *deserve* to have their 360 burn out.

I've had a system since launch. I have never gotten the RRoD. Not in all the time streaming movies, music, or photos. Not in all the time watching DVDs. Not in the all-night marathons of Oblivion. Not in leaving the console on all day to download an HD movie when they first appeared. Not once has it overheated, burned out, or given me a problem.

And EVEN IF IT DID, it's covered by a warranty, and you can get an extended warranty from MS (or your retailer) for a fair price.

Seriously; GET OVER IT. Treat it well, but don't mollycoddle it as if it's going to explode if you stream a movie or two.

Connect360 is the best thing to happen to the XBox 360 since launch. I've been using the program since it came out, and I love it. It's a MUST PURCHASE.

In fact, I'll go on record to say that Connect360 does a better job of streaming to the XBox than the Windows Media Connection does! It's far better having access to my iTunes library and all its playlists than to have to go through Windows Media Player, and Connect360 works seamlessly in the background.

Yep, I've used it since I picked up my 360. Looking forward to the fix.

I use it for music and podcasts but not for movies (because before they needed to be wmvs, which I don't have). If Connect 360 sorts out the problems and lets me stream h.264, I definitely will. Before this update was announced, I was thinking about an Apple TV, but now that the 360 supports 1080p h.264 movies, I'm sticking with it.
