The only difference between the concept Cecil art and the new version is the SD just makes it creepy.

How nice of kow to completely de-rail another Nintendo post by talking about Spider-Man 3. And to think, he wonders why people call him a troll. Apparently it ISN'T just me. Big difference when you step outside of PS3Fanboy.com.

As for the game, I think it looks good. Square-Enix is actually doing something relatively smart. Instead of making a ton of FF spin-offs, why not put together upgraded versions of old FF titles for handhelds. I'm sure there are plenty of DS owners who missed out on the early games, but love Final Fantasy.

The PSP gets 2D remakes of Final Fantasy I and II. The DS gets 3D remakes of Final Fantasy III and IV.

I cannot be the only who is bathing in the irony of this turn of events.

I just thought I'd chime in. Graphics do not make the game, but they really help. For being a DS game, the graphics in this are fantastic. Good textures and models. We'll see what it's like in motion, though.

And for those people who say "Man, why is this on the DS? It would be better on [x].", why would it be better? Sure it might look better, but that doesn't automatically make the game better. Mario Kart: Double Dash!! has much better graphics than Mario Kart DS, but which is the superior game? Majority of people would say MKDS.

It makes sense in every direction for this to be on the DS. It's affordable for Square-Enix to make the game (as they already invested in the technology to make the FF3 DS engine) and the DS has a pretty giant userbase full of classic gamers and even new games Square-Enix could pick up. It's pretty much win-win.

The graphics look nice, but I have FF3 remake, and I can't get up the urge to play it. I'm stuck on some battle with a guy who has a shifting shield type thing, and that battle reminded me that the game just isn't any fun. Hopefully this game will be more than just a graphical update.
