Before rushing out for a PSP, wait for US ports to be confirmed. Keep in mind, in Japan, PSP has a Suikoden I & II pack that has yet to come to the states.

xbox is getting Infinite Undiscovery and I think pS3 will get Ocean Star 4.

IU is more attractive to NA audience, will OS is more of a JRPG genre, it makes sense for both.

Never played OS 1 and 2, but if they make a vastly change for PSP, I will look into it.

I see SO4 going to PS3 as well. Mainly because I don't want to have to buy a 360. the SO series and the Suikoden series are the best RPG serieseseses out there.

Neither of those games are Chrono Trigger, thus the PSP can still bite me.

How much is Sony paying Square for this recent strong support?

Umm, Squeenix said long ago, they don't want an uncontested champion this generation.

Hrm... The Portable Playstation is starting to look better. I want to see how these ports turn out, and if they can preservce their history pretty well. I've watched my sister play Ocean Star 3 a bit, and it looks really fun.

@9: Why are people always quick to say Sony pays anyone. In all interviews with associated third party developers and/or Sony they have stated since the Playstation started they haven't entered in paying contracts to develop exclusives. On the other side, Nintendo HAS done that since their forray into console gaming began, and the same with Microsoft. Believe what you will about Sony's integrity, it's rock solid, despite some bad press and backlash from bloggers.

Heh, obviously. I've never played SO1, and I've played about 10 minutes of SO2 before I got a ton of disc read errors, so I'm really looking forward to this. Hopefully they make it stateside. Until then, I'll continue to not own a PSP.

"Hey i've played these before

>:("

And it wouldn't be a PSP topic without Wruh Roh's patented "Blarg, PSP fucking sucks... port city!" posting style.

It's not. It's really, really not. Star Ocean 2 however, is probably one of the greatest RPGs ever, and I'll be crossing my fingers until the port is announced as being released in the US. Or until my fingers cramp up. Probably the second one.

I hope they both come here.

I remember reading around when SO2 came out here that they were going to remake SO1 for ps1. I guess this is them porting what they had of that and finishing it.

Star ocean in itself has always been a great series. Part 1 was revolutionary with SNES (read up on it and you'll understand why, and why it's also so rare) Star Ocean 2 had about 88 different endings (although it was honestly different versions of the same scenarios) as well as cut off points where you would have to choose paths of getting different characters. Star Ocean: til the end of time wasnt' as good as part 2 in my opinion but it was still a great RPG. Maintaining SO2's gameplay plus the great storyline, STAR OCEAN is one of the best RPG series out there but not THE best. I wouldn't say there is a best (and no Final Fantasy isn't either, the stories have become far too repetitive.) But I would love it if more of the original PSX RPGs appeared here stateside but it's been proven that many of the great ones wont like Breath Of Fire and Tales of Eternia.

It's funny... as far as Port City goes. Every game that I own for PSP will be a port. That's kinda what I expected from a Playstation Portable. I want more remakes and more ports.

I need something to hold me over till Final Fantasy Tactics and this come over. Can anyone recommend a Turn-based Strategy Game for PSP?
