I remember this was also said when they released DDO. How great of a seller it was etc. Game moved into the bargain bin so fast. With a license name like LOTR I'm not surprised it sells, even if it would be a halfassed unfinished game like DDO was when I played it. Just glad I'm not into LOTR or I'd be in for a disappointment. I don't trust turbine even half a step anymore.

It's awesome that WoW1.2 is selling well.

I enjoy the game, it probably is like WOW but I never played WOW.... the main difference is probably the look and classes. I guess more real versions of characters... lots more brown in other words :p

A Pokemon MMORPG could easily challenge the fanbase of WOW, but that might be up to parents on whether they would want their kids to play online

LoTRO has been very enjoyable so far and nothing like the horrid release that DDO was (and that was a game I wanted to like but just couldn't).

...we haven't heard of constant server crashes like we did at the beginning of WoW's life...

Come and join the Euro servers and enjoy frequent downtime!

From looking at the forums it appears the US servers are running very well, but the Euro servers (and I should stress it's the login servers - the game is fine when you actually manage to login) are causing loads of frustration!

It is a very good game though. Lots of WoW influence (although WoW itself is hardly original). Turbine have created a very well rounded game, and considering how new it is it really feels solid with plenty of low end content (not sure about end-game as I'm taking my time and enjoying Middle-Earth).

I love the game. I was susprised cause i hate Turbine. Lord of the Rings + Guild Wars + WoW = lord of the Guild of warcraft.

Brace yourself!

The WoW-boys are coming! Wait for the verbal thrashing of the MMO-style kind!

You guys are pathetic...

I play LOTRO and I have to say it the most polished game I've played in a very very long time. The community is still very friendly and the game is just different enough to make it stand out. What else can I say but I REALLY LOVE THE GAME. Nuff said...and Congrats to Turbine...they deserve it for this quality piece of work.

I played EQ for 5 years, WOW for 2, SWG 1, and now LOTRO... and i ha ve to say this is the best MMORPG EVER!!! I am SO ADDICTED, unlike WoW this is a LOT more better because you actually feel that your IN the story.... unlike WoW that all you do is pickup quest to kill these and that.... senseless...

I'll stay with LOTRO for a LOOOOONG Time

I am a lvl 35.
