And yes kingofwale, I was defending you. I'll defend anyone who I agree with.

ok, so how about they just add a reticle?
and for those saying it makes the game too easy, I'd say this is balanced by not being able to cheap out and put the gun 1 inch from the scnree to aim.

kow using vague terms to dance around being wrong? And to think, I gave him credit for playing nice on a 360 post. Once a troll, always a troll I suppose.
"I waited in line for 1 whole day to get the Wii for my gf. and yes, I have more than 10 minutes with it (more like COUNTLESS hours). and frankly, i'm not that impress with it."
What a startling revelation! That never came in all our discussions in which I told you that you haven't a clue because you don't play Wii.
Funny how that never came up.

They could just let you calibrate at an options screen by pointing at all 4 corners of the screen to compensate for different TV sizes. Then on top of that, you could turn the reticule on or off. What's the problem now? A 4 player co-op light gun game sounds pretty rad to me, especially if it has 4 times as many enemies to keep everybody on their toes.

I'm with Rubang. I think some of you are making a bigger deal out of this than you need to. Yes it is true that the wiimote DOES NOT work like a light gun. But a simple config screen could easily rectify that.
And for people who say " what if I move from where I config it from?" How many of you while playing arcade actually run around while playing them? And if for chance you do ned to pause the game and then come back they could have a re-config on the pause menu. Clearly if I can come up with a simple fix to these "enormous" problems the devs with actual experience with this kind of thing can come up with an even better one.
Finally, I for one think the wiimote will be awesome for arcade style shooters, especially multiplayer.

Looks pretty awesome,
About time Nintendo got some "light-gun-esque" (i know its not a light gun), arcade titles
a genre i've missed out on for some time

That would not work, if the TV is more than, say, 27 inches. Remember, you can't actually point at the corners of the screen if the LEDs are outside of the Wii remote's field of vision.

Do you have a concave TV that curves around you so that to point at the left side of the screen you have to turn 90 degrees to the left? Red Steel worked fine (cough cough) on my roommate's TV and it's bigger than 27 inches.

"BTW, if this game works, you will see probably 20-30 similar games flooding to Wii. lol"
Actually this would be good, as the large number of games on the PS2 helped it win last generation.

It'll still work, via triangulation to determine the direction the wii-mote is pointing..
But to be REALLY accurate, the config method should have to do at least 6 checks, twice in three different locations, to determine the exact point in 3D space the screen lies in. Once that is determined, the position the wii-mote is pointing at can be easily determined simply by calculating from the location and angle of the wii-mote (each).
I don't know how the Wii handles the actual configurations, but for a game to be really accurate, I guess this has to be done.

I thought I'd mention that Ghost Squad, alongside other arcade titles such as House of the Dead 4, Time Crisis 4, and Firefighters 911 all use the exact same technology that's inside the Wii Remote. Only see, the distance between the player and the screen they're shooting at is almost always a constant, thus IR sensor in the guns will always be detirmined to shoot at a certain spot at a specific length.
The more you know...

1. Okay Sega, here is what I want. A machinegun shell (I'd be willing to spend up to $60 a controller) with the force feedback recoil motor that the remote mounts into. Once you have this game established, license the gun usage to Namco and we can get some Crisis Zone love... all leading up to the Sega shooter I want on any console so desperately... LA Guns. Yes, I want to shoot bank robbers in jetpacks, scuba snipers along a wharf, and I want to completely lay waste to a city street.
Actually, how about an LA Guns 2?

I have a Wii, and I will never own a PS3 unless they drop the price to arond $350. These arcade ports are good for a guy like me who only has time to go to an arcade when he is on vacation. I had always thought that the people who would pay $600 for a video game machine should have a gun put to their head because that is exactly what Sony is virtually doing to people when they buy a PS3. That is why the PS3 isn't doing so well.
