An actual Mario Party
So, tomorrow is Mother's Day. Now, before you go off and attempt to make reservations for some swanky brunch (which you're already two weeks too late doing), we've got some ammo to use against the lady that never really appreciates your Xbox gamerscore. Today was apparently some little boy's birthday and his parental unit(s) threw him a Mario-themed party with piranha plant centerpieces and coin boxes (with chocolate gold coins inside!) as party favors. Was your mom ever that cool? So, if your mom never threw you a Mario-themed birthday party, you can always throw this in her face and say she'll get brunch when you get the party you always wanted. Not on your birthday, mind you. You want it now! You go Veruca, tell that woman who birthed you who's boss!

Do they have a Peach stripper. Oops wrong party. ;-)
JSL @ May 12th 2007 9:02PM
Awesome. You can tell that a lot of love went into making those party favors and decorations.

At the original story site they have the birthday boy's eyes covered by a black block, thus making a cute party invitation very disturbing.
I bet the kid's parents will be thrilled to see that their party planning is making minor world news.

Bad ass, yes I think so...

Ok I'm 22 years old and yet in the dark crevices of my soul I'm jealous of this little kid. Now that's a birthday party. haha.

I had a Sonic themed party when I was younger. It was awesome, although it wasn't Shuffle themed.
Car2oon @ May 13th 2007 12:13AM
Wow, a lot of care went into this! Bravo parents!

I had a Mario party when I was in first grade. It was my own idea and I drew pictures of every character from the Mario world (which, at the time, was limited to the first "Super Mario Bros." game) as decorations. My parents were able to get the local bakery to make a custom Mario themed cake. They didn't have manufactured Mario designs back in those days.

Holy freaking wow.

I wonder if they play any mario party at this party?
Dan @ May 13th 2007 6:47AM
I had a turtles costume in my youth (Danatello, if you must know). It was great.
This, however, is far, far cooler.

I wonder who's going to be more excited about the party.. the kid, or his parents?
Chris @ May 13th 2007 9:59AM
nintendo lawyer: yes what is it?
reggie:We have a situation, get your breifcases.
I can imagine it now, lawyers raiding the party and braking everything, burning the furniture, popping the bouncy castle. If only. XD
2kings @ May 13th 2007 10:14AM

My mother actually loved themed parties when I was growing up. I remember having Star Wars themed birthdays too.
Grant @ May 13th 2007 4:45PM
wow, pretty sweet.
You can always tell the vigor of a mother when it's her first born, the siblings will never get anythign remotely close once she learns how much work that was... unless she's a martha stewart gone nintendo.
KirbyMeister @ May 13th 2007 7:44PM
Wow.
Let's hope Nintendo's lawyers don't read Joystiq ;)

What a spoiled little kid.
And yes, I'm utterly jealous. But hey, those birthday parties I used to have at the skating rink were pretty cool, too, right? Right?
