Hotels used to be a place to throw your suitcases, shower, and sleep. That was about it. If you were at a nice hotel, you could take a dip in their pool and maybe try your luck at the continental breakfast. That was then. This is now. Hotel Tomo has opened up in San Fransisco, boasting a Japanese-style hotel theme complete with electronic doodads and artificial lighting out the wazoo. How often have you seen the words "doodad" and "wazoo" so close together? The hotel, located in Japantown, is most noted here on PS3 Fanboy for giving us exactly what we want: home away from home. That's right, every hotel room in the joint has an LCD television, iPod docking station, sexy bathrobes and whatever else you'd enjoy in your own room. In addition to this, two gaming suites are available boasting gigantic (6ft.) LCD projection screens and your very own PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii to fool around with. Yes, there's WiFi, too.
PlayStation 3 available in a hotel gaming suite with a giant projection screen? That would be a kickin' spot to host some kind of party, wouldn't you think? Not only could you play your favorite games in "actual size" but you could also watch Blu-ray movies as if you were in a private theater. Hats off to you, Hotel Tomo, for giving gamers a home away from home (especially if their parents drag them to a particularly boring event). Let's get more hotels doing this kind of thing!
