I'm buying a Wii, if they mess up this game launching this year, I'm getting all Nintendo games and no Sony stuff...

@Gamble20 "If any of you think metal gear is going multi platform, you need to stop dreaming."

What allegiance does Metal Gear have to Sony? Sony doesn't own it, Solid Snake appears in Super Smash Bros Brawl!

@Cheapo "Why does everyone still rip on the PS3 price?"

Because its $200 more, and the only difference is a couple exclusive games like MGS4. The graphics and gameplay are pretty much exactly the same as the 360, and any differences are minor and don't justify spending an extra $200. It feels like Sony is holding these games ransom, and demanding that we pay $200 more for the privilege of having access to a few games like MSG4. That's why it's relevent.

nice,

you got Halo, Metal Gear and Metroid all in one fanboy-tastic post. and about a rumor no less. great page-view to substance ratio. so how many of these should we expect a day now?

I wonder if the reason for delay is because the market for the PS3 is still pretty small.

Even though it will drive some sales, how much is still unknown, and who wants to be the first to test that?

Or maybe programming the game is harder than expected.

At any rate, the longer development time should result in a much more polished product. So that's a positive.

OK... For all you people yelling at Joystiq for this post... you might want to read the post... ALL IT DOES IS STATE THE FACT THAT THE RELEASE DATE AT EB WAS PUSHED BACK... it says nothing about a port to the 360 or anything else other than make a comment about the lack of system sellers right now.

Maybe your just PS3 fans who are mad about those 2 facts but please... stop bashing Joystiq for posting NEWS!

Oh and as far as MGS4 goes... it will come to the 360 and the PS3... game makers are not console fanboys... you don't create what you think is the best game ever and limit the number of people who can play it to a tiny number of people... the link between the 360 and the PC is going to be a HUGE + for the 360...

I used to play games on a PC and when the XBOX came out I stopped messing with the video cards in my PC and just got a notebook... if the 360 can enable me to play all the games I could if I have a monster video card in my PC for 4 solid years I'm sold.

With Live coming to the PC more and more console developers will start to develop for the 360 as well... Games are written on a PC and now more than ever it is EASY to develop a PC game that you can play on a console (the 360 atleast)! Sony is on the outside looking in...

Name ONE THING that Sony has going for it that is going to sell games that the 360/PC doesn't? And don't say "THE CELL" because that doesn't enable great games...

The bottom line is that there are not enough ps3 units out there to make releasing the game either for holiday 07 or as an exclusive profitable for Konami. Do they wait until more units sell this holiday? But without a huge title like mgs4 what will sell the system? It's the old chicken and the egg problem. I think this title is very clearly going multi platform regardless of what they say now. Capcom did the same thing and look what happened. Square isn't even pretending anymore - both they and Sony have said that exclusivity for FF XIII was up in the air.

Sorry fanboys but Sony has completely dropped the ball this gen (just like Sega and Nintendo did years ago). What does Sony have to go up against Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Mario Galaxy and Metroid 3? GTA IV will help, but it's not exclusive so it's nowhere near as big a factor as Vice City or San Andreas was.

Sony couldn't see the elephant in the room since they had no competition the last two generations, now there are two viable and more affordable alternatives and consumers and developers are taking notice. Maybe Playstation Home will have 4D graphics, but if you can't cross game invite what's the freakin point? With the Playstation Network you got what you paid for, with the PS3 you sure didn't.

If anyone wants to argue catch me on the Halo 3 beta tonight.
