Ninja Gaiden. Ninja Spirit. Ninja Turtles.

Why the hell was everyone so fascincated with ninjas 18 years ago?

Wait, I don't understand. You're saying you don't think ninjas are awesome?

Ninja Gaiden Sigma FTW!

*sigh*

Another week of no Actraiser and no Blazing Lasers. I'm not use to this concept of Europe getting things before we do!

Downloaded and been playing Ninja Spirit since noon. I had never played the TurboGrafx version, only the version in the arcade, and I must tell you all to stay away UNLESS you feel some sort of retro connection to the game.

I feel like I just wasted $6, but feel free to disagree if you find this fun upon downloading it. Just trying to share that I didn't care for it.

@josh

What's wrong with Ninja Spirit? I'm being serious, not flaming. It's been a LONG time since I last played it on the TG16 and I remember it being a lot of fun. Has it just not aged well?

For the record, I'll be grabbing Ninja Gaiden as soon as I get home from work. God, that game was so tough, but so much fun. I know my gamer reflexes haven't kept up over the years, I'm sure I'll get owned at it. Oh well.

I've gotten better at Ninja Gaiden over the years. The last time I hooked up our NES, I got two Worlds (?) beyond my old record.

I'm so glad to see Gaiden is up for download.

I was actually playing Ninja Gaiden on my NES this weekend. Couldn't make it past 6-2... I may download Ninja Spirit though.

@ Jeff
I am a firm believer in "different strokes for different folks." For me, the game did not bring back what I thought it would. If you enjoyed the game on TG16 long ago, then by all means pick this up..Back then, the graphics were great, now they remind me of an ugly version of Revenge of Shinobi on Genesis. I also didn't like the ease of the game.

A few weeks ago I was happiest guy alive when "Legend of the Mystical Ninja" released, while many others did not think the game was that great.

Yet again, we cry out for demos on VC -- OK, it's a shameless rip of XBLA, but I'd rather be a happy copycat than a sad original.

Guess I can always go pirate the ROM and find an emulator... ::sigh::....

personally, i find it slightly disconcerting that instead of new, real, wii games, most of the time wii owners are subjected to the latest "VC" releases.

I love retro gaming as much as the last person – but something in my heart makes me weep at the sight of my motion controls being wasted.
