Can we really judge the game on this video? If it's prerendered or in engine but using extra animations and expressions than will be available during gameplay. Although if that really is ingame then yeah that will be one really good game.

Since Half-Life 2, I have yet to see anyone top Valve's facial animation.

It's in-engine, designed to show off the advaced facial animation capabilities.

Looks sweet.

It would be a shame if the game doesn't make use of the facial animation capablities, 'cause that was awesome! I love how he got all thoughtful there in the middle. And totally crazed at the end!

Makes you feel good about the time you spent playing TFC, but doesn't make my expectations for the game any higher. It's not a halo killer, jimhuf. It's just a fun game to play with some friends, just like TFC was. Except TFC was free. This is 70-80 dollars? If I have 80 bucks lying around and my buddies do too then it's something we'd pick up. But it's not even close to Halo.

I'll pay $60 for a full retail game of this based on the cell shading and quality of the animation alone this is some of the best adaption of the source engine to date, IMO better then HL2, single player campagin with coop give me say 25+ hours and then expanded and improved the current multi-player (add on to whatever is shipping with HL2:orange) you got yourself

Team Fortress 3: Unleashed

you got the game Shadowrun wishes it could be.

If only MS got in bed with Value and this was their Cross platform Live anywhere game, instead of Halo 2 and Shadowrun this would sell Waaaaaaay better, better then shadowrun for sure.

MS you listening last time i heard value already had the netcode waiting.....
just pay for it is worth it.

Yeah, this game is essentially as free as it always was.

When is it coming out, by the way?

Yeah, that has to be overemphasized. Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress.

Personally, I think it's good package and worth the money.

I find it funny that this post links to the TeamFortress2 tag, but isn't actually filed under that link -- therefore, people coming back to the site later won't be able to easily find this post through the TeamFortress2 tag. :) Might want to fix that.

lol @ 1

This game isn't in the same ballpark as Halo, isn't in the same league, heck it isn't even the same SPORT as halo. Looks fun, but calling it a Halo beater is laughable.

It got delayed until fall if I'm not mistaken, which definitely means no one is gonna be playing this game. With GTAIV and Halo 3 both sporting huge multiplayer components, the Xbox Live community is gonna have it's hands full.

@21

Yes, I have, and this isn't half life so what are you talking about? lol. The only thing this game has in common with Half life is the source engine...

The Half-Life series is a good one, one of the best, but the story is making less and less sense and I'm not drawn in by an amazing music score like I am with Halo. Add in the fact that a random scientist magically becomes this elite soldier, and it just isn't as appealing to me as Halo is. Nothing wrong with that; I agree it is a great series, but doesn't beat halo in my book.

I hope that this becomes a fun team-based adult-oriented title (adult meaning nobody will tell me to suck their dick) while Halo 3 is the standard fragging and running around. It would be nice to switch between the two worlds.

So, do I get this on 360 and pay them probably like 10 bucks for the *privilege* of downloading ~3 maps, or do I get it for PC and have probably hundred of community maps to choose from, free? Hrm, what to do, what to do....

It's fine with me if the Halo fanboys stick to their cheap, cheat-filled fragfest. Really, I don't *want* you guys playing Team Fortress 2. STAY AWAY. You're absolutely right. Halo's better. Whatever it takes to keep Halo players out of TF2...

For me, though, this is 100% more interesting and fun than Halo. Halo is for people who dig Venom and anime. TF2 is for people who dig Spider-Man and Futurama. Two different types of players. I hope we never see each other in our respective games. I promise to leave you to all your "hardcore" Halo 3 action if you stay the hell out of TF2.

Besides, most of the Halo players wouldn't know teamwork if it bit them on the ass. To Halo players, it's all about personal glory and a bunch of dudes in armor.

@28

You sir are an idiot. You make so many biased statements and define so many of your own stereotypes that it is quite amazing really. I hope YOU aren't playing Halo 3, it would ruin the experience for anyone playing with you.

@ZeroCorpse

OMG! I dig Futurama AND Anime! Who am I?! Ahhh! I must be two different people! No one person can like both of those! What?! Ahhhh!

As a sidenote, I'm not looking forward to Halo 3 or TF2. Dark Sector, which is coming out this fall, is more my cup o' tea. Hopefully it'll have multiplayer. I guess that puts me in the Family Guy category, huh?

Honestly, I think Halo takes itself too seriously and that applies to a lot of it's players as well. This looks more fun to me.

Well, it certainly took long enough for developers to realize that hyper-realistic graphics just look silly, and we should be getting more stylized graphics that are just rendered WELL.

Who needs to see veins popping out of foreheads when you can see eyeballs popping out, instead? :)
