With the announcement of Midnight Club: Los Angeles, the fourth game in the series, we thought it might be time for yet another public service post that helps you differentiate between the Midnight Club and the Midnight Society, the teen storytellers from Are You Afraid of the Dark? First off, as you've probably already gathered, the Midnight Club is now meeting in Los Angeles and the Midnight Society met in a secret location in a creepy forest.
The Club was created by Rockstar San Diego, which is also making the newest title, and the Society was created by children's television company Cinar, which also brought us the The Doodlebops. The new Midnight Club will appear on Xbox 360 and PS3, while the Midnight Society basically just stuck to SNICK. Finally, while Midnight Club is due to return in early 2008, the Midnight Society probably won't return until Nickelodeon notices our tersely-worded petition.

God, Are You Afriad Of The Dark needs to make a DVD release list. Didn't Clarissa Explains It All drop on DVD?
Regardless, haven't played Midnight Club since the original, is it worth looking into again?

I could actually see a use for the piss-poor sixaxis motion controls in the PS3 version of this game. Since midnight club had the concept of weight shifting during airtime, using the tilt-sensor on the sixaxis controller might actually work well. Don't get me wrong, I'm a PS3 owner (for blu-ray), but i still don't own any games. Just give me a reason.

I guess I'm too old to have any clue what the hell you're talking about here.
That makes me kind of sad... :(

baby sea tuna, just imagine, if you will...
Take the decently scary stories of Friday the 13th: The Series or Tales From The Darkside, lighten them up slightly, and imagine it all being produced by Nickelodeon, back when they didn't suck. This was a great series that was around Ren & Stimpy's first TV go arounds.
It was a very, very good show.

God I feel old, I actually had a crush on one of the female members of the midnight society. Her, and Clarissa. Some station, somewhere, needs to bring back Snick.

I knew I'd find a kindred spirit in Sheppy. You're talking to a guy who fully bought the whole series on bootleg DVD at a comic book convention. And if they're ever on real DVD, I'll buy them again.

Midnight Club is so underrated in comparison to the overrated yearly rehashes of Burnout & Need for Speed Underground. Show 'em how it's done RockStar, show 'em how it's done right.

Huh, I remember Ren and Stimpy, but I guess this one slipped under my radar. After checking it out on Wikipedia though, it looks like I missed a pretty decent show.
The article did say it was out on DVD though. They had box art and everything...

Yeah guys... If you click on the 'tersely-worded petition' link you will see some google-ads type things in the upper corner telling you about the DVD, which takes you to this link for the 'Alone in The Dark' DVD box set:

Been waiting to hear this. Midnight Club 3 DUB: Remix was the best arcade racer I've ever played. Control, environment, effects, music, story, replays, and customization. Can't wait to play the next-gen of it.
