So you think? At this point it would be wise for the Sony to get as many games as it can on the PS3 to appeal to everyone.

Wow. By the time Sony gets a clue, and drops the price to $300, they'll have no exclusives left and no one will give a crap.

The moral of this story is... Develop your own first party games. Sony needs to drop the price, but I guess they want to sell a ps3 to every persont that's willing and able to purchase a ps3 at 600; when Sony feels that group is on the bandwagon, then you go after the crowd that just wants a good deal, and then the cheap crowd... et.

Crash Bandicoot hasn't been worth playing ever since Naughty Dog Stopped Developing the franchise.

However this game might have appealed to the same type of person who would buy a game solely on the reason it has the same name as a movie they like.

Sony need all the games they can get, but this isn't really that big of a disappointment

We should be thanking Sony for not disgracing the PS3 with Crash Bandicoot. What a truly awful game. I hope it goes 360 only because Crash and the 360 have a lot in common.

Any of you who still think Naughty Dog makes Crash games are complete morons along with those who still think Insomniac makes Spyro games.

Both have changed hands to much lesser companies (Sierra?) and are now completely piss poor games, which only truely dimwitted consumers are tricked into buying.

If you've even tried any of the last few Crash games you know your not missing out on much at all.

@8

How can you say they are self destructing? Ace Combat, Devil May Cry, and Virtua Fighter are still on the system...its not their fault that the developers wanted to make more money.

Ace Combat AND especially crash are pieces of crap now a days anyway. Crash hasn't been exclusive for a while now, and the fact that Sony doesnt even have the game proves they could care less...

nobody does crash is a dead franchise as Spyro and soon jak and daxter will become...move on people...

Wow. Because, you know, NOT having more games than everyone else actually benefits a console. Even if Crash sucks, to say that you don't want it on the PS3 is pretty sad. It must take an extremist fanboy to go so far as to say, because Crash is bad, that it should go to the 360.

So when it launches and does exactly what its supposed to do (win over the kid demographic), what will your excuse be? I'm not saying Crash is good (Spyro sucks as well), but having another game on your console's library doesn't hurt.

Works for Wii, didn't it? ;)

I would whine, but then again, it's just Crash, Mario wannabe. Now, if it's God of War, maybe.

oh, and when I hear xbox and Wii, makes me sad. You know Wii version will get a crappy port with after-thought control scheme.

Next-gen-gamer, what you just said prooves you've been living under a rock for the last couple of years. Just thought I fill you in for all the years you missed, well, WBush became president of America, Terrorist bombed the twin towers and well, theres a war going on, oh yeah, and Crash Bandicoot is not a game that appeals to loosers or parents with no idea of what type of game they are buying for thier 4 year old son until he looks at the logo of crash bandicoot and stomps on it, then goes into a tantrum for not getting rachet and bloody clank which is what he originally asked for in the frigging first place.

Maybe Xbox 360 needs it as Xbox 360s only other half decent platformer is Sonic, only other half decent action game other then DMC is um....wait......I got it...................actually I don't, and as for fighters, [sarcasm]well we all know that DOA is the best fighter in the history of gaming[/sarcasm].

Why this game would even disgrace Wii is beyond me.

You buy the console with the library of games that appeal to you, not the console with more games otherwise we'd all just stick with PS2 instead of buying PS3 and 360, intelligence? Lacking some? I wouldn't buy a 360 because it has more games unless I was one of those XBL nerds who have never been laid and prefer to purchase all games wasting all thier money just to get a high gamerscore -_-....................................................................................................................................................................................

I don't know whether to cry with joy or leap with happiness at this announcement, after Crash Bandicoot 3, I forgot Crash even existed and when the likes of jak and Rachet set the scene, Crash days were all but forgotten, it is sooooooo ps1 days that its silly.

If I wanted to play a decent crash game, I'd simply play the ones available for PSP instead of dishing out $30+ to buy a game that crashed and burned ages ago.

The only reason I would buy this or anyone for that matter is if it were used for throwing at people, or carrying out explosive science experiments, maybe even invvent a crash bandicoot blaster which shoots crappy games like this.

This game is sooo bad that if they threw it at ppl in iraq, they'd all wave the white flag and beg America to just drop bombs instead otherwise they are giving up the war.

When did the last title come out anyways? And who was it up there they said Sonic was a decent platformer??? Have you even played a Sonic game recently? I vowed that Sonic was dead to me after Shadow came out, they should go back to a 2D platform and revamp it, I think it might work.

You're inability to see my point is simply stunning. The point is, having Crash Bandicoot on the PS3 would NOT hurt the PS3. You act as if its some virus, that if it gets to the PS3, the console will die. There have been shitty Crash and Spyro games for years, and none of them ended a console's life. They still sell with the kiddy crowd. If developers weren't making any money on these types of games, they'd stop making them. However, here we are, years later, and they're still pumping out new games. Even if its indifferent to the PS3, it wouldn't hurt the console, and that's the point.

"You buy the console with the library of games that appeal to you, not the console with more games otherwise we'd all just stick with PS2 instead of buying PS3 and 360, intelligence? Lacking some?"

Lacking intelligence? Oh the irony! This entire paragraph is completely irrelevant to my point. Developers are attempting to make products that will sell, correct? When these games make money, developers will usually make more, correct? So here we are, a ridiculous amount of Crash games later, and yet another Crash game is coming out. How could this possibly be? Because there are people buying these games. Crash fits into a niche of pre-teens who enjoy kiddy games, and parents who want to give their kids games that are 'safe'. That's who Crash appeals to, and that's who keeps buying Crash. What you and I think doesn't matter, because they aren't appealing to us, and they're making money anyway.

Fact remains, Crash makes money, and even if it didn't, having it on a console isn't going to hurt the console. The game will just fade into obscurity.

There's only three things this game could do on the market. Fail, sell moderately well, or sell extremely well.

There's only two things this game could do for a console. Not help, or help. There's no risk involved. The fact that I have to constaly point out something so absurdly obvious is sad.

You're either failing to understand, or you're purposely disputing it because you know you refuse to suck it up and admit you made an extreme fanboy remark. Its really not that hard. I admitted I was wrong on here just the other day. Show some integrity.

The original Crash Bandicoot, which got rave reviews, was developed by Insomniac games, those of Ratchet and Clank and Resistance fame.

But somewhere in the ps2's life, the title was bought out by someone else.

A number of Crash titles were released under this publisher, and none of them got anywhere near the reviews of the original.

So that same publisher is going to publish to 360 and Wii.

Let them.

That particular pub. never made anything worthwhile, anyway.

@19/John

The crash games were not developed by Insomniac creators of Rachet and resistance, they were developed by Naughty Dog creators of Jak and Daxter and Uncharted.

maybe you were thinking of Spyro another fallen franchise

This is a non-issue, because right now, Crash Bandicoot is not what it used to be when it was a PS1 title. Same thing with Spyro the magic dragon.

Still, I find it hard to believe people are bashing Crash as a "bad game", since the originals were pretty good. Even worse when people compare it to Mario as a "Mario Wanabee". That's just low. They're different, and I wouldn't change one for the other and viceversa.

you may not, but you can on the level of mario vs sonic vs crash back in those days.

but whatever, reguardless of the help/not hurt arguements, no one is going to have their development studio burned down by a sony fanboy mad at not getting this one.

no one.

@7 Don't go bagging on Sierra, they were making hit games before Insomniac and Naughty dog were even in existence. They were also the
first developer to introduce graphics into an adventure game. Not only that but the first 3d game, first game with voice acting, and support stereo so give them their due, they were pioneers. If it wasn't for them your games would consist of this:

"You stand in a clearing and see a house. To the
east is the tavern and to the west is ye flask."

Look at house

"The house is very old with ivy covering it"

Walk west

"Ye stand before ye flask"

pickup ye flask

"Ye flask is anchored to a stump"

etc. etc. etc.

that's a little extreeme, but yeah, seirra was cool, back then...

anyway, i was thinking. bad games 'can' hurt a console. it may not seem like it to the ps3 because we have so few games right now vs the 360 head start and teh cheap wii ports and movie/tv tie-ins, but if people, not us, but casual games who don't know any better end up picking up games that suck they start to get the idea that the game console itself suckes. remember the launch title defcon 5 for the ps1? ridge racer, wipeout, and B.A.toshinden rocked the house and had my dad excited about games again,.... untill he bought defcon 5 and felt like whe wasted his money. we (my siblings and i) then were forced to turn to renting games as it was a Loooooong time before we picked up another at retail.

Crash games have been passed around like a dry dusty cloth since Naughty Dog dropped it, its not Sierra's fault the game sux now, it just simply lost its spark, its novelty, Next-gen-gamer, no matter what market this game fits into, it sux, full stop, why the hell would a child want this when there are a whole list of other games on the market to pick up? Right now PS3 is being bashed for not having even decent software, do you really think its going to make a difference if Crash makes an appearance or not? If some of the best games such as Resisitance and Motorstorm are having a hard time selling and breaking into the gaming market, where do you think Crash would stand as an exclusive?

This game returning to PS3 would be as pointless as bringing the following platforms back and hoping they will 'appeal to the younger market':

- Gex
- Croc
- Tak
- Taz the tazmanian tiger
- Stupid blue lizard game I can't remember with long tongue

At least Spyro, Sonic, Mario and Rayman still have thier novelty and are still selling, but the likes of any of those other games actually selling of becoming a success now is slim to nothing. What I would much prefer to hear is the announcement of Dino Crisis 4. That game only flopped because it jumped shift, had it stayed on PS2 it could have continued to succeed.

No matter what you say, after this new article passes, nobody will notice nor remember Crash Bandicoot, and if a child born and grown up in a generation where games are part of life and the quality of the game is everything, I would want to see what child would choose this over Jak and Daxter or even Rachet. Like I said, its better remaining exclusive to 360, that was a good move made by Sierra, it will sell better on 360, PS3 needs no more platformers, especially crap ones. Neither does Wii to be honest. But 360 needs all the platformers it can get at the moment, call it fanboyous or what ever you gamers call it these days, but its the facts.
