It's a real shame that Sony lost the exclusivity on this game, it's a brilliant series and one of the reasons I got a PS3.

However, I think it could still prove to be a victory for PS3 in a roundabout way. If what I have heard from many devs is true then PS3 capable of much more than the Xbox360. Therefore, when the game is released for both, I'd hope to see a reasonable difference.

The same should go for Assassins Creed and other games that were original PS3 exclusives. However, its true to say that even the devs working solely on PS3 are nowhere near full capacity, Motorstorm used 20% of Cell. In this case DMC4 may appear equally well for both consoles.

Either way I'll be happy to play the game, I'm fed up of all the bickering on these forums about graphics, for me 'next gen' is about an experience, and PS3 (although it doesn't have a shed load of games) is still living up to experience.

Paul,

Ive been toying with idea of getting a PS3, and if these games do have a major difference in graphics I will.

Mind you, these differences will have to be quite significant. After the E3 2005 bull Ive been quite bitter you see.

The PS3 Sony showed there is not the same Ps3 we have today. If it was the 360 would still be a joke like it was back then.

The PS3 should have blown the 360 out of the water right out of the box, but here we are today still wondering why.. when...and what.

my problem with this game (outside of lies from Capcom):

1... game looks way too easy, the enemies don't seem to be interested in hitting you.

2... where are the gothic buildings we loved so much in DMC and DMC3?

3... can this game deliver the constant framerate?

4... WHERE THE HELL IS THIS GAME??

People. The ps3 is slightly more powerful than the 360. It has a little bit of future stuff built in, so it will last slightly longer.

But it's not going to blow it away, any more than the original Xbox blew the ps2 away.

I am consistently confounded by how people expect hardware to become suddenly freakin Star Trek, and "stuff".

The 360 is a 3-core computer with a good graphics chip.

The ps3 is a 5-cell (for all intents and purposes) processor with a good graphics chip.

You write for the 360, you get a good game.

You write for ps3, you get a good game.

You port...

The first version is usually better, the 2nd version usually sucks.

Here's an interesting thing.

If Insomniac were to port Resistance and the upcoming Ratchet to Xbox, the xbots version would be suckier.

If Chucky, or whatever that cute guy's name is who made Gears of War, were to port GOW to PS3... guess what? THe ps3 version would suck!

We gotta get over this.

THere has to be a marriage.

I see a film with lots of bloom and a bride in long white tresses, and freakin Goomba holding flowers, and everyone gets married and lives happily ever after and xbots and ps3bots and wiibots are hugging each other going, "I love you, man!"

Oh, the senior VP of marketing at Sony said it was being ported down? I'm sure that is a reliable source.

I say Capcom got wise to the fact that they will make much more money supporting the 360 at the moment.

but not wise enough to port Dead Rising or Lost Planet to PS3?

I'd say Capcom got Microsoft-ed.

I really don't care about the differences,i have a 360,my friend has a PS3,if one is crapped down,i'll play the other, tell you what though...

BLOODY PALACE
i love this part of devil may cry,it gives you waves and waves of enemies to hack into, and there's no time limit,no parameter,no nothing, just good old fun, killzone had battlefields, that's another great example of what i like.

I hope the "Infection" game mode in Halo 3 has this.

GOOD LUCK SONY
i may have a 360,but i don't hate the PS3

I wasent expecting star trek, but I was expecting E3 2005 claims to be true. Thats when the whole fanboy war started. When I saw the 360 compared to the PS3 I was seriously thinking that the 360 was an xbox 1.5 Now its totally flipped. "Next gen starts when we say it does" Well guess what, the next gen started with the xbox360.

Now if they can just pull off the Kilzone 2 graphics we saw back @ E3 2005.

Well of course it was ported down... everyone believed all Sony's posturing and got burned (or would get burned if they remained exclusive) by the poor sales thus far of the PS3.

And with regards to Dead Rising and Lost Planet: It DOES make sense to port a game from a system with a lower install base to a system with a higher install base (Resident Evil 4, now Devil May Cry 4). It DOESN'T (necessarily) make sense to port a game from a higher install base to one with a lower install base. It just might not be worth the effort.

Capcom is following the money as companies are wont to do.

I could care less about Lost Planet and Dead Rising... LP is coming to PC so I could play it there, and I've already pretty much beaten DR... it's nothing spectacular. This game though (DMC4) I'm glad to see PS3 owners not being shafted like everyone originally thought we were going to be.
