Since I went broke this weekend, it sucks that I'll be buying all of those when I get home tonight.
Might take a pass on SoR2, but DKC2 was the best DKC game, in my opinion, and Blazing Lazers is great, too.

Plus, I have a fetish for vertical shooters.

Lol... I feel i bought a Mame machine and not a Wii. The only difference is that my Wii is better because I have to pay for all the games.

These games will bring with them graphics never before seen or imagined on the Wii!

I'm just joking, calm down.

I highly recommend blazing lazers. It is one of the best vertical shooters ever made. It was a real shame that it was only for TG-16, as hardly anyone has had a chance to play it. With it on VC, I hope you all buy it and enjoy one of the greatest games made for the TG-16

Streets of Rage 2 raised me.

It taught me:

1. If you fight someone twice your size, get on his back and punch his head
2. Mini skirts + high kicks = win
3. When in doubt, put your hand on fire and uppercut someone

Man as a Big-N fan all this great Nintendo news I feel like I'm about to internally combust. Rayman, Metroid, and Strikers, and these VC games. ahhhhhh!!!!

/end hysterical flipout

Ok I'm better now anyway this looks like another great week of VC games. I haven't bought any in awhile but all 3 of these look like possible purchases. Looks like time to buy a Classic Controller or another GC one DKQ and SoR2 are two player action.

"Because Donkey Kong didn't appeal to the kids anymore, here comes Diddy Kong!"

Umm.. you could use Diddy in DKC1. In fact, he was the one you used the most. In DKC2, Diddy has no advantage over Dixie, so you use Dixie almost the entire time..

DKC2 is the best of the DKC games, but I'll break out the SNES if I want to relive them thank you very much.

"Blazing Lazers (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): Marketing misspellings have never been so kool. Clamber into that Gunhed Star Fighter, collect powur-uhps, and chute the bad guise invading Urth."

Fuck yes. :D:D:D

Cheapest Streets of Rage cart on Half is $13 before shipping. Given what a good game it is, this week it pays to get it over VC if you want to obtain it legally.

Gamers will never gain mainstream credibility as long as the word "shmup" remains in the vernacular.

Finally, that's one out of two of my most anticipated games for Virtual Console. Donkey Kong Country 2 makes me reminisce about the good ol' 1990s and the decade's awesome games (DKC2 was my favorite as a kid). Now all I'm waiting for on Virtual Console is the release of Beetle Adventure Racing for N64.
