Anything without Windows Vista and on it will not run these HD games correctly and will overheat and crash. Say byebye to Mac. Bye Bye I won't miss you.

dude, "Jack of No Trades"

That was a foolish comment, the Mac is highly capable of playing any HD games that will come out in the future.

Vista plain sucks. And not even half of all of the developers has gone over to directX10 anyways.

I agree Vista sucks but DX10 doesn't.

Whoops I meant a Radeon 9600. Our company had our Rigs custom built to run Solidworks and CatiaV5.

A Radeon 9600 would kill itself as soon as you tried to run any somewhat modern game. It's based on almost five year old technology!

I got the absolute top spec Mac Pro (barring the insane graphics card and only 12gb of ram too) and it eats through anything. Oh, educational discount (10% off). I laugh all the way to the bank too :D

But Quake Wars? No thanks. I don't have high hopes.

I'm laughing at the stocks that go up all the time with Apple. Since the iPod and iMac it's been good to own Apple stocks. In a bizarre twist of fate they're actually paying for my super computers.

I'm a gamer, Diskoboy. I probably have a home cinema/console room that shits all over your Master System and 17" CRT TV. LOL.

Heres a thought will it be better than quake 4 that was pretty mediocre and lacking in itself, I wonder if they did not break up the IP and got devs to focuses on 1 solid game if that would have helped any....probably not....

As for ET:QW, I'm not too interested in it. It was supposed to be the rival to Battlefield 2142, being "futuristic" and all, but I'm not really into those types of weapons. I prefer FPSs that use modern weaponry.

Yeah, Macs won't run this too well, I'm afraid, unless you get the PowerMac, this isn't going to be worth it.

The iMac and Doom 3 worked terribly, same with Halo (my friends iMac with all the top of the line accessories 2 years ago). All this tearing and blotching...

Way to show yourself off to a complete douchebag jay. Mac's aren't for a good gaming platform period unless you like blowing money out your ass and spending 5x what is needed for less performance or you already have a decent one specd one and windows bootcamp. But your still overpaying if gaming is your primary concern.

Let's take a $2000 pc with a 8800GTX. It will outperform your Mac in all games out today, is not going to be outdated as fast because of DX10 support, is upgradeable and has better graphics for a fraction of the price of you Mac.

Games today are primarily GPU limited provided the rest of your system is adequate, and in most cases it should be. So my rig with it's 8800gtx will get faster FPS than yours, even with more settings on. So it will look better. On top of that, the 8000 series nvidia cards have superior AA and AF compared to the 1900's series and even x2900 series cards, so my games will look even better than yours for way less money. Your quadcore is as good as 1 core and 12 Gb of memory is wasted as very few games, actually none that I can think of, see any mild performance gain from more than 2Gb of memory. Your system is limited by GPU as is mine, which makes mine faster and better looking. So why are you bragging? Oh, that's right, you don't know what your talking about.

On top of that I can overclock my cpu to faster than yours is and get even better cpu speeds out of rig at again, a fraction the cost of yours. 3.5 Ghz is obtainable on air for e6600 cpu if you spend a the extra $60 on a good heatsink and thermal paste. My system is still better for gaming with or without the overclock. Also, my rig for the said price I can get ddr2 1066 Mhz memory with good timings while your rig mostly likely comes with 667 w/ piss poor, to adequate timings at best so my memory is quicker than yours. Your mac isn't anything special when it comes to gaming so get over it.

By cinema/console room you mean mommy and daddies don't you because by the way you talk your probably are not old enough to afford a 10 speed bike much less a nice entertainment system. If you are an adult than you are certainly not intelligent enough to earn enough the money to purchase said devices. Your just a dumb kid. Your elitist attitude is extremely juvenile.

And your computer isn't a supercomputer you dipshit.
su·per·com·put·er
n. A mainframe computer that is among the largest, fastest, or most powerful of those available at a given time.

God your just so dumb you probably can't even take a proper shit w/o mommy wiping your ass.

Mac's aren't in the forefront of video and photo capabilities for major companies anymore. http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/32116/118/
and Lucasfilms is going a similar route.
Linux is conquering the space where Macs use to rule supreme.

Aspyr normally does great ports, so contrary to those who never even touched a Mac in their life, I'm betting that this game will run fantastic. Howeve, it likely could be for Intel Macs only, since their last port was.

But I was going to get a QW for my crummy gaming pee cee, but not now! Mac all the way, baby!!! Whoo hooo!!!

I think I hold a grudge against Mac users after working in a tech store that sold computers that was a few store overs from an apple store. Mac users would at least on a weekly, usually daily basis, come into our store and literally harass us about how Mac's were better and the future and I have even been called an idiot by them on a more than a few occasions for defending my choices of OS, which is ridiculous to say the least. The only other time I've been treated so rudely and actually see someone act like the fanboys at these forums is ebgames or gamestop.

I can't believe these people still going on about Macs not being any good for gaming. I'm not a mac user -- I have one ancient mac somebody gave me for free sitting in a closet somewhere -- but I know that most modern macs are actually pretty damn beefy. You could get more grunt for your money in a PC, I know, but if you get over the fact that you're probably paying 50%+ more for the Mac, it's going to do fine. Get one of those Pro systems (quad-core, 3Ghz, piles of RAM) and a high-end video card and you'll smoke pretty much any game that hits the market this year at any reasonable resolution. I would buy one myself if I had money to burn (not likely to ever happen, but still)...
