Red Steel 2 will be fine with a few refinements.

I rented Red Steel, and was actually pleasantly surprised. While the swordplay still needed a lot of work, I found the controls for the gunplay to be excellent and easy to pick up.

That said, the game was very obviously rushed. I think Ubisoft would be better up just using a new IP for a sequel, since Red Steel got such lackluster reception.

Red Steel was a fair attempt at a FPS on an ENTIRELY NEW console, using an ENTIRELY NEW control system, which i have to say, was amazing. sure, it got quite irritating when you were trying to have a sword fight and the screen locked up, but that just what happens when you have NEW TECHNOLOGY, it takes time for everybody involved to get used to it and perfect it. There is nothing better than getting together with a bunch of mates and playing red steel, it invokes the same feeling that i had when i was younger playing the best FPS ever, Goldeneye. Its just fun, and that's what console gaming is about. Fun. I really enjoyed it, and i cant wait for the 2nd one, it will only get better.
