I suspect that's GPG's thought as well -- why invest the time and money into a patch that most of your customers can't use.

Bad for them, that was the only reason that could make me upgrade to Vista.

Blah blah blah, what is the difference look Xbox 360
does`nt need Direcxt 10 but the games look a lot better that any game on PC and PS3, i dont think you need direct 10 to make dramatical graphics changes unless you are a PC gamer enthusiat that way microsoft and game developers make you expend $500 on a video card just to see the same graphics quality
the Xbox360 has Shame on you Direcxt 10 if you show me Hollywood graphics renderinmg then i can trust you.......

Damn. I need some good DirectX 10 games to play. Anyone have recommendations? Especially ones that arent 360 ports (I already played through Lost Planet and it was pretty mediocre, though fun at times).

Damnit, I need Crysis and Unreal Tournament 2007. Even the PC isnt immune to the 2007 game drought... though we're more used to it than console gamers.

Try playing oblivion on your xbox upscaled 1080p(1920*1080) and play it on the pc at 2500*1600 then compare graphics!!

Maybe they can actually get the Flight Sim X DX10 patch out. This is bullshit on the part of THQ, as they have been hyping this for a long time.

Lamers. What happened in those DX10 screenshots. Oh well. It would just be even more unoptimized.

Good luck getting a playable frame rate in Oblivion at 2500 x 1600 without turning down so many details that you ensure that the game would look better at a lower resolution. Tom's VGA Charts (http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html) are currently topped by an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX with 768MB of GDDR3 and their outdoor Oblivion tests top out at 1920 x 1200 with maximum quality, but without anti-aliasing, but the top card still only managed 28.7 frames per second on their test system; the second card, an 8800 GTS, only managed 20.4 frames per second; the third card, an ATI X1900 XTX, managed only 16.3 frames per second; and it just kept getting worse from there on down.

Now I am not saying that you cannot get better frame rates by not running FRAPS, by lowering the quality, or by lowering the resolution and I am not even saying that you cannot get Oblivion looking better under Windows than you can on an Xbox 360, but even with high-end current components, you are going to have to make some severe sacrifices to the rendering quality if you actually expect the game to maintain playable frame rates at 2500 x 1600.

I been playing games on a real PC with fast Nvidia
cards and the latest games but i dont see a big graphics difference between Xbox 360 and PC games its a shame that consoles are now bitting PC games on
graphics quality, shame on you PC shame you..........

Microsoft and game developers know how to Ripe you wallet OFF beacuse when they said that a new game will be Direcxt 10 the only thing they change could be a little be of texture particles and some new thing but that is something that you can make with direcxt 9 the only difference is that you ad more stuff in one game than the other, shame on you Microsoft and developers shame on you..........

Hey Trio,

Have fun playing Crysis, World In Conflict, and Hellgate this fall on your 360. Or are you going to use your "fast" nVidia card?? All of which will take advantage of high end cards.

Well, I have Vista Ultimate and an eVGA 8800GTS overclocked on my system, and big deal the only thing right now is a demo for lost planet. Believe it or not, it DOES tweak visuals in some current games using DX10 and plus I know I am set once Crysis comes out (among others.) It is no different than people getting HDTVs before there were more than 5 high def channels, not like it won't be used. Once the directx 10 games start coming out, it will be well worth the wait.

And a note to the 'consoles forver and nothing more!' crowd, look I like consoles, I am huge on sports games and that is the best way to play them, but come back to planet truth and realize there are going to be PC games that give the consoles a run for their money and take the throne, just as there will be some console games that do the same. I just did not see any reason to go buy a $500+ PS3 or whatever then $60 per game as oppossed to building my dual core pc with an 8800GTS that I can upgrade down the road and use for much much more than just gaming. And to the person with the 'fast' nvidia card, what exactly do you mean fast? Is it AGp, PCI-E? 5000 series, 6000 series, 7000 series? Is it fast as opposed to on-board video? Gotta specify to make an argument out of it, otherwise you got nothing.

Anywho, just felt like throwing in my thoughts since I have worked everyday the past several years with PCs being a computer tech.....some people on here sound like they very well know what they are talking about, but too many are like a majority of the customer I get that think they know PCs and talk out their you-know-what and don't know when to admit they don't know quite as much as they think.
